They have plenty of fans. They just cannot get to games because of the weather, having families, wearing suits after work, having to catch buses, living here not there, breaking wind, not liking bridges, watching games on tellie etc etc etc

You forgot about they are too bust picking their noses

Parramatta got 28,524 against the Titans in 2009 in the finals at this venue

Parramatta + Out of town QLD team with no fans > Two Sydney teams

The sad thing is, no one is actually defending manly at all. I guess the only conclusion is that they have no fans and therefore can't defend themselves.

It was a terrible showing by both fans,Eels got 28k against the Titans(no Titans fans at that game)

Eels 28k all by themselves > 25k from two teams

One way to sort out this rubbish is to split the gate between teams playing
that way Manly won't whinge about wanting to play at Brookvale

They will no doubt then actually promote the game
The NRL really doesn't need the money from a 30000 crowd
also the prize money for winning the GF is only $400000 if they shared in the gate could end up being almost a million dollars for the winners and $500000 for the runners up

Then don't go. Simples!

I don't go neither do many other families for the same reason.

As a single guy 10 years ago I was a season member. I travelled to most away games as well. Now that I have a wife and 3 kids to support it's not feasible to attend so many games. I might go a few times a year when they offer the $50 family tickets.

It's time to start rewarding clubs who bring in crowds and punishing those who don't, it's too easy for them at finals time to say oh well it's the NRL's gate so why should we do shit, it's that selfish mentality that is the games cancer, imagine how strong it could be if clubs worked together!

Well that solves that. You are out unless you get cheap tickets to watch a billion dollar industry. Problem solved.

The stark reality is, a city with a population of 190k hosting a game tomorrow night may outdraw tonights all Sydney finals game.

Ticket revenue for the GF last year was over $10 million. The NRL aren't going to be handing that over

Success is wasted on clubs like Easts, Manly and Penrith. Less fans see the game when they do well.

Out of this years top 4 teams our crowds were number 1 in Sydney and number 2 overall. But for the other 3 who came 1st, 3rd and 4th, their crowd averages were 10th, 14th and 15th respectively. That is awful.

Imagine what Parra would do if they had the sustained success of Manly. Imagine the Dogs crowds if they were reigning premiers and back to back minor premiers.

Some clubs just have more fans, end of story. And success is wasted on the insular clubs who have no plans to reach out to wider fanbases.

It will be another week of negative Telecrap headlines about crowds instead of actually talking about the games at hand.

When the cheap tickets are $40 for an adult and $100 for a family it's a little steep for the average working class family. Then you have parking prices at some venues then way over proved food and drink.

It really isn't an affordable night out.

Your just making numbers up, I paid 50 for a family ticket that was well advertised on social media, radio and tv all week. Parking cost me 20 and
we ate before we went.

Money wasnt the issue, perception thats its all just to hard as an excuse for laziness is along with the negativity of the media scaring off those who lack the ability to think for themselves.

For the record I took my kids from an hour away, left work from the cbd to home and back to the city and we dont follow either team just looking to watch the finals as I thought it would be great game. Its all very doable and affordable if you actually want to watch the footy.

After all that the game was a stinker as far as finals footy goes!

Over saturated market. Either increase fans or decrease teams if you want bigger crowds. It is clear there are some teams with small fanbases and that is unlikely to dramatically change anytime in the near future. Some teams are currently low drawing but have great potential if it can be realised.

Two Sydney clubs that can't get 30k to a f**king finals game has no right being in the competition, pathetic selfish bush league administrations are holding the game back and should all f**k off and die.

 chill. around 20k of the 25k at the game would have been souths supporters. mongly eagles fans dont like crossing the spit bridge
