When we talk about Suns & GWS crowds lets remember these are massively fudged, so it is unfair to say they are higher than the likes of Penrith.

This is where the clubs and the NRL need to analyse what has been going on.

Gold Coast - Could it still be a leftover effect of the off field management issues over the last couple of years? Ticket prices a notoriously large at Skilled Park, is this a real barrier to crowds and what can be done to reduce this barrier? What sort of publicity is in the Gold Coast during the season and can their profile become more public?

Penrith - Is the decline in crowds a reflection of poor on-field performances? What sort of connection does the Panthers have with the people from Penrith and what can be done to improve this connection? What's the best scheduling given they had seven sunday home games, one Monday, two friday night games and two saturday games (which most would consider a beneficial scheduling)?

Most clubs fans would dream of having Penriths schedule

Doesn't matter if they are fudged, the Panthers crowd figures are down on previous years. That is an issue.

Penrith - Is the decline in crowds a reflection of poor on-field performances?

Partly a couple of reasons.

Given we have the smallest fanbase playing every interstate team was always going to hurt though even games that should of drawn more (Knights) didn't

As for on field. In 46 years we made the finals 9 times. I go to all home games and most games it's the same people there. We seem to fail to draw the casual fans. We have by far the worst marketing and Promo team in the comp which doesn't help

I have submitted a question about plans to fix this in the members meeting tonight. Interesting to see if I get a response

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...w-survey-reveals/story-fni3fbgz-1226674500708

This seems to be a concern to the image needs a lift. It's strange though we don't have any d!ckheads not strange colours.

As for next year I expect our members to increase given the positive changes we made in this field. Though it's the casual fans that we need to get through the gate.

Really?

Raiders, Titans, Storm, Warriors, Newcastle, Cowboys, Broncos

Souths in 34 degree heat, Parra on a Monday night, Dragons wet weather for a week before.

So while yes our crowds were poor it's not like we had the perfect draw either. Though it's out the way now so will have a better draw. Roster and results are also better.

Next year 12k should be the minimum average if we get our house in order that is

didnt you guys get the tigers at home, who boosted your average.

its pretty obvious though

the following teams need more fans
canberra
easts
manly
penrith
cronulla

in the case of easts and manly they have had a lot of success and still are meh for crowds, which suggests that they are probably never going to build a better fan base and shouold be relocated...

see how i did that

Easts have the highest average home crowd of the Sydney teams this year don't they?

EDIT: 2nd highest behind Bulldogs, will probably be 3rd highest as Souths should jump over them with the last round match

People really need to get over the AFL on here, the crowds are official and until there is proof that they are inaccurate they need to be taken as presented. Assuming they are fudged isn?t going to help Penrith.

Back on topic, the Roosters are pushing hard for a crowd of 25,000 on Sunday to reach the goal of a season average of 20,000. Each member is entitled to a free GA ticket at the gate. I don?t think it will happen but could nudge 20k.

Amazingly, Souths Roosters and Melbourne will all average their highest crowds ever this season. At least there are positives..

Raiders and Panthers are big concerns in that they continually average amongst the lowest 2 or 3 teams and under 13,000 every season.

Please, people are just pointing out that some of their announced crowd figured have been ludicrous. The giants will end up with an average that says 1 in 3 seats to every home game was taken. They didn't even open the top stands for some games and there were bays completely empty for most games.

In saying that, I agree it's got nothing to do with Penrith who should be working out how to increase their own crowds, at least thy have been honest about there's though.

Exactly. Whisper it...the AFL attracts far bigger attendances than the NRL. There. I've said it.

The point is so what if it does?

What a joke! Just priced tickets for RD26 v the rabbits and it is $45 to sit in Cat 1 Roosters which is located in the Eastern corner an area i have paid much less in the past to sit in ($30 i think). How are they getting away with this, i would understand the price hike if the demand far outpaced supply, but the crowd would be capped at 40k in an 83k stadium. Of which maybe 30k are what i consider premium seats for a rectangular field.

So basically the choice for Roosters members and fans is get slogged $45 for Cat 1 or $25 for GA seats a million miles away. Can't see 10k of our fans turning out for this one i am afraid, so allowing for under 20k rabbitohs ticketed members and 10-15k paying to attend i can only see this getting 30-35k

Roosters members should be getting heavily discounted away tickets for this game. In general ticketed members in sydney should have 25-50% discount at ANZ/Allianz.

Here we go. The excuses have started. Easts fans are all rich Point Piper living latte drinking snobs anyway. You people can afford $45. If that is your excuse for not attending a once in a lifetime event you are kidding yourselves.

You guys just want to make excuses to justify when 2000 of you show up instead of the 20,000 of you that should.

I have just found out I've got time off work. So if I can travel over 500 k's to this game you guys can put the lattes down for a few hours and make the trek to the dark side of the CBD. I promise noone will bite you if you cross George Street.

You hypocritical giraffe necked genius .
If & its a big IF you attend the game ,it will be your first for the yr after posting continuously in this thread about how bad crowds are.

You make excuse after excuse as to why you wont attend, yet anyone else who has an excuse is frowned upon by you.

I bet you have managed to see a Thwannies fumble game this yr.

I am guessing ticket price decisions for regular season are the clubs or stadium domain and the NRL has zero influence. Maybe the talk of centralised stadiums isn;t just about which stadiums get used but how, including tocket prices? Lets hope so. it is clear from the Broncos membership prices for 2014 that there is no effort going in to make attending the game more affordable in Brisbane.

And you wonder why people don't like you. FTR I live in Bondi, work as a simple technician to pay my bills, pay off my unit etc. I don't have the luxury of sponging off my parents.

You have time off work? Here I thought you were at Uni. I very much doubt you are going to the game unless your parents are paying for the ticket AND driving you down there.

500kms is that all? No excuse. I have a round trip of 5000kms and have made it to 4 games this year!
