tbf the game avg has barely changed in 8 years, including the likely outcome of this year. we had an avg of 16,500 in 2005 whoch dropped for 3 years to around 15,500 then went ack up to 16,000 in 2009 and has been around 16,000-16,400 since. There hasn't been any significant difference and when you take into accoutnt population growth the attendances have gone backwards per head of population attending.

It's good news were not dropping but not great news we are static. Will be very interesting to see how the NRL truns it around to increase it to their goal of 20,000 avg.

and crowds have increased around 15% in the last nine years.

2005 was a perfect storm of conditions tbh and is a massive, massive statistical outlier to be making a point with.

Appreciate that and taking that year out (why was 2005 season so popular?) You can see we had good growth after 2004 from 14,600 to 15,600 in 2006, plateau for three years, good growth from 15,500 to 16,000 in 2009 then another plataeu (all be it minor ups and downs +/- 400 in the following 4 seasons). Maybe we see a growth to 17,000 in the next year or two?

We've been over this ground a million times tbh.

In the last 30 (1982-2012) years the match average has almost doubled and the aggregate has doubled.

In the last 20 years (1992-2012), average is up by nearly 40% and the aggregate is 50% larger.

In the last 10 years (2002-2012), average is up 25% and the aggregate 33% or so.

If anything, it indicates an upward trend...

It was the closest season ever, some big clubs (Tigers, Eels, Saints, Brisbane) were all firing, it was an exceptionally dry Sydney winter and a few more reasons besides.

If the commission does it's job I think we can add an extra 1000 every three seasons or so to the match average. It's far too early too judge them now though.

Who will win the Battle of the Gold Coast today?

The Suns drew a crowd of 19,640 this afternoon against Carlton. So will the Titans top that figure later tonight when they take on Souths?

In not sure if prostitute is a job but if it pays your bills good luck to you.

I know of a girl from Sydney who was paid $10,000 to go to a business mans apartment, and all she had to do was wear her lingerie and heels and step on ants.

Maybe you should get into that Bunniesman

Surely the question should be 'Who will win the Battle of the Gold Coast Fudged Crowd today?'

Meh will win.

The Suns, much like the Titans, clearly fudge.

The Suns were playing a very popular team in Carlton. Much like the Titans are tonight with Souths..

No real reason the Titans/Souths game shouldn't get close to that crowd.

Why? Souths aren't that big in SEQLD.

GWS have been the benchmark with regards to crowd inflation, but the Suns have well and truly gone overboard of late. Today was no exception.

The Tits will likely post around the same I reckon, fudged or not.

I wouldnt say Carlton has that big of a supporter base in SEQ.. 15k last year at Metricon for that fixture.

If it weren't for them beating Collingwood I think it would have been much smaller. Collingwood and Hawthorn are the big big drawers up here.

Yeah as I said earlier, ticketek sales for Titans/Souths is looking quite strong... We shall see.

Without doubt. The Titans woes have alot to do with pricing tbh. They're probably taking more at the gate than alot of NRL clubs despite their lowish figures.

We have the highest away crowd average in the comp. The only time the Tits will get a better crowd is against the Broncos. If they can't get 16k+ they're kidding themselves.

What a load of sh*t. If this game was in Sydney yous would struggle to draw that much despite being the best team this year. The titans are on track to miss the 8 and have been getting blown out the last few weeks.

Can i also say that comment about being the highest drawing away team is incredibly misleading. How much of that is because of the crowds you draw in Sydney? That says nothing about your ability to draw a crowd against a QLD team.

If they get 16K+ to a game like this it's more impressive than any of souths crowds this year (except the storm one).
