You turn up for 26 weeks to support your team to top 4

Your reward = slugged $45 for your own seat back

It just feels shit.

NRL needs to understand the finals need big crowds
You have 20000 season ticket holders ready and keen
But they profiteer off them

It's a very easy fix

I'm not sure that will fix anything. There looks to be what, around 25K there? I daresay that the vast majority of season ticket holders are there today. The problem is appealing to the fans outside of that (like last week) and the hype just hasn't been there.

Ticket prices surely don't help but i don't think they're the main factor.

SFS semis seemed to always get 30k no matter who played

We changed it to week 1 home finals

Which basically made the games more about home team fans ie members etc

Then we decided to slug the members $45+ dollars for the priveledge


In terms of Perth reds comments.

If a cinemas crowd was shown on tv to 1m plus viewers a week

Hoyt's would fling the doors open for free bro

The money from crowds is a drop in the bucket

We need full stadiums to support out $1b tv deal

Who cares If finals are a loss leader

Look if your team is playing finals footy it means your team is on the big stage. I hate to use AFL comparison but look at the way the Richmond Tigers fans responded to finals footy. Probably 55,000 of them at the game against Carlton.

There is a discussion about price but frankly what will 45 dollari buy you? a pizza and a beer for you and your girl If you're lucky. A few dollars is well within reach for most people if they want to spend it.

It's a friggin finals match. Souths have played only a handful in 42 years. I thought after last week, they'd draw 45,000 as a minimum.

Souths fans have been tortured, butchered, humiliated, with shit teams, and the one night they are playing in a finals match, they desert their team.
