Eels v Panthers @ Parramatta: 20,237
Cowboys v Broncos @ Dairy Farmers: 24,332

Total: 44,569
Average: 22,285

Before tonight - 2009 total was 2,773,507 fans through the gates.
After tonight - 2009 total is 2,818,076.

There are 14 matches remaining - to achieve 3 million for the regular season we need 181,924 more fans, which is an average of just 12,995 per game.

We should have it in the bag now, especially with some of the games coming up:

R25 Titans/Tigers @ Skilled - (tomorrow 5:30) should crack 20k
R25 Dogs/NZ @ ANZ - Hazem's farewell should crack 30k
R25 Manly/Sharks @ Brookie - Snake's return should crack 15k
R26 Saints/Eels @ Jubilee - should sell out at 19.5k
R26 Tigers/Dogs @ SFS - if WT are still in the running, should break 20k easily
R26 Manly/Titans @ Brookie - could be for a top four spot, 15k possible
R26 Knights/Panthers @ EAS - Old Boys day, both teams desperate for finals berth, moreso Knights. 19k easy.

The above alone account for about 135,000 of that 181,000 required.

As I said, we should have it in the bag :D

Great crowds tonight.

As for the dogs v tigers, is it a sunday arvo? If it is and the tigers are still in the hunt for the 8 i think 30K should be a high possibility.

You would think that Brisbane will get over 30k next Sunday seeing as they have actually hit some form and it's almost certainly their last home game of the year.

It's looking pretty good for a bumper 1st week final crowds with these possible combinations:

Storm v Manly @ Etihad
Titans v Broncos @ Skilled (possibly moved to Suncorp?)
Bulldogs v Eels/Tigers
Dragons v Knights/Panthers

Well done rugby league fans,

Its been a hell of a season hasn't it from the highs to the lows I can't remember one like it ,but loving vibe around rugby league at the moment so lets continue be positive about our sport and not get caught up with stuff that doesn't matter eg(code wars) and enjoy the final series.

Cheers

Yeah, crowds against Canberra certainly aren't the worst. Just for interest's sake, they've met 5 times at the new Lang Park with an average of 27,711, ranging from 23K to 32K. No idea what or if any effect the Sunday night timeslot will have, but either side of 30K +/- 1,000 would be a fairly good turnout I reckon.

Titans would have to be crazy to not play at Skilled Park considering their record there.

The current draw and tv schedule favours sydney teams low drawing matches against tits, warriors, storm ,cows are being offloaded onto newc, melb, canb, gosford, adelaide ,also channel 9 is only interested in syd and brisbane which means xtra mon night games for newc, canb ,melb

Yeah, can't see the Tits moving the game to Suncorp even if it is against us. Actually, especially if it is against us. Why surrender home ground advantage just to fill a few more seats?

I've been to Skilled, great park. Basically a mini-Suncorp, the crowd is right on top of the action. Will be a fantastic atmosphere, especially if a bunch of us jump the train down there.

great crowds...sydney crowds should be congratualted this year...even though parra have a huuuuuuuuge bandwagon at the moment, in the most part crowds in sydney have been very very good this year. If anything Cowboys and Titans have let down, although it was a very good crowd at NQld tonight...looking forward to seeing what the dogs pull on sunday

Every team got to make seven requests for the draw in 2009, and all clubs got six out of seven of those choices met, with all clubs also getting their top two requests.

Any clubs who continue to blame poor performances on "poor scheduling" should take a look at themselves in the mirror, they have noone else to blame.

It's interesting, the big growth area for the NRL has been the Warriors, and then the four Sydney clubs of Bulldogs, Panthers, Dragons and Wests Tigers.

Melbourne's crowds have stayed pretty consistent despite not playing at Etihad Stadium this year (gave them a big crowd boost last year). Roosters, Rabbitohs and Sea Eagles crowds have held steady compared to their 08 figures which is impressive for the Roosters and Sea Eagles considering they both have significant patches of 'not winning'.

Cowboys and Broncos will finish close to on-par with their 08 crowds... which for the Cowboys they need to ask some questions about what happened to their fans... they did a lot better this year than last yet got some 'average' Sydney crowds. For a club which had such a good community connection in the past, they may need to address their pricing, which has gone up significantly over the past 5 years.

Broncos, well they took a bath with the NRL Double Header, that Souths match they would have gotten over 30K themselves if it was standalone....They also had some draw shockers in the first month of the competition - Rnd 1 - Cowboys, Rnd 2 - Storm, Rnd 4 - Dragons... all massive games, and because they were so close to each other ate away at the clubs ability to get a 50K crowd for any of them....

Knights crowds have been poor this year, and I think this has been caused by a few factors 1) Brian Smith 2) Ground constructions 3) Brian Smith

Hopefully they'll turn it around next year, because they use to be one club you could rely on for an 18-20K crowd week in week out, now they are delivering more around 13-15K...

Titans have been the victim of the hype around them dieing, and naturally the GFC...and yes I know this hit everywhere, but as shown Sydney was more hit by it last year and has been coming out of it in 09, the Gold Coast didn't get hit till this year. I'm sure they'll bounce back next year....

To be perfectly frank the Titans problems are simple - inflation of crowd figures and overcharging at the gate. Ticket prices are utterly ridiculous @ Skilled Park.
