To be perfectly frank the Titans problems are simple - inflation of crowd figures and overcharging at the gate. Ticket prices are utterly ridiculous @ Skilled Park.

Went to Skilled last year and it was cheaper than Suncorp, has that changed?

Making Brian Smith the scapegoat for poor crowds. The same Brian Smith who had the unfancied Knights running second at one stage! Have you seen the way EAS looks at the moment? It's like some tin-pot soccer stadium from the Communist bloc!

Quick glance at prices:

Gold Coast tonight v Tigers @ Skilled:
Category - Adult - Concession - Child (up to 12yrs) - Family (1A 1C) - Family (2A 2C)
Titanium $55 $46 $32 $76 $152
Gold $42 $35 $25 $58 $116
Steel $29 $21 $17 $40 $80
Legion (unreserved) $29 $21 $17 $40 $80

http://www.titans.com.au/default.aspx?s=ticketing

The cheapest adult ticket is $29. Ridiculous.

Brisbane next Sunday v Raiders @ Suncorp:
Gold
Adult $47.00, Family (1A 1C) $63.00, Child (4-12) $24.00, Pensioner, FT Student, Senior $38.00
Maroon
Adult $40.00, Family (1A 1C) $53.00, Child (4-12) $21.00, Pensioner, FT Student, Senior $33.00
Blue
Adult $34.00, Family (1A 1C) $42.00, Child (4-12) $15.00, Pensioner, FT Student, Senior $27.00
White
Adult $27.00, Family (1A 1C) $32.00, Child (4-12) $10.00, Pensioner, FT Student, Senior $19.00

Suncorp ain't much better but at least you can get a kid in under 20 bucks...

what do you guys think if the dragons wrap up the minor premiership this week , maybe they might consider transfering the eels game to ANZ

i know they would give up home ground advantage but im sure they would pull in at least 35000 if not more against a red hot team with a huge bandwagon following at the moment

Thing is, they don't make a cent from their 'home' final so profit wouldn't be an issue. They'll be more concerned with winning the game and the home ground advantage.

If they played the Eels in the 1 v 8 clash I too would love to see it played in front of 45,000 at ANZ on a Sunday, but it won't happen which is a shame.

Proir to 2008 the nrl draw was based on a clubs position at the end of the previous year and the afl one was based on a discredited centralized crowd derby system that maximized crowds hence collingwood being one of the favoured teams always had to travel less and was the benificiary of the lopsided draw ,in 2008 the nrl adopted the same centralized system ,hence for the last 7 weeks the eels being an nrl and ch9 favoured team have not had to leave sydney and face any of the tough away games and been able to gain momentum through the draw ,receiving 6 favourite opponents doesnt make up for receiving 6 matches every year that are unwanted by a sydney centric nrl +xtra travel + monday fixtures . this year we had the farcical situation where the newcastle ceo had to lower prices for the storm, cows matches

Reasonable crowd at ANZ. Probably about a 50:50 split. Hard to tell when it is a one-sided game. The Dragons sounded loud early on but I was sitting near the Dragon Army.

Compare that to todays game at ANZ where this family of five is paying just $40.

I shudder to think what some NSW crowds would be if they doubled the price to be closer to Suncorp & Skilled's costs.

Then again, if we could get a family of four, even, into Suncorp for $40... that'd be awesome. Won't happen, unfortunately, but it'd be nice to see football at a more reasonable cost up here.

I've had the same seats at Lang Park since we moved back into the Stadium - it's gone from $250 per season in 2004 and the very same seat will be $520 next year. For 12 games. No, thank you.

The prices naturally are affected by demand in the market. The Broncos have the situation now that they have not enough corporate facilities at Suncorp for all the companies that want to sponsor them, that they are now giving out regular seating for some packages.

What this is causing is the value of the seat to skyrocket, unfortunately whether we like it or not, a company will pay far more for a seat so they have a good spot for 3-4 blockbusters than the average person can afford.

The downside the Broncos are getting with this is say the Monday Night Football clash against the Sharks. They sold 15,000 tickets for that game on top of their Members and Sponsors. If everyone turned up they should have had a crowd of over 30K, but as we saw there were are lot of people who didn't turn up.
