Crowd Watch Thread 2009

Now that is really a poor turnout from Manly supporters.
I thought Sydneysiders wanted more day games:)

Piss poor crowd from the current premiers.. Although some manly fans would rather sit home and watch the game on channel 9.. Their words not mine..

Then again Brookvale is a dump and should be demolished.. It's an embarrassing state of affairs when a place like that is hosting professional sporting fixtures in the year 2009...

78,000 now sold to SoO game II

just under 4,000 tickets remaining

we should get over 80,000 tomorrow night then, weather is good as well :D

More than 78,000 tickets have been sold for Game 2 of the Harvey Norman State of Origin series as Blues fans rally behind their side ahead of their must-win clash against Queensland.

For Gidley, his first match as NSW captain in front of a capacity home crowd will be one to savour.

“It was a proud moment to lead the boys out in Melbourne but to do it front of a full-house of Blues fans will be very special,” Gidley said today.

That's great news. Disappointing though that it hasn't sold out the day before the match. A math some are calling the most important game in NSW history. When's the last time Sydney sold out an origin match? Sydney hasn't even sold ou. The grand final since 2005. Hopefully SOO II will be a sell out come match time tomorrow.

While some are disappointed with it not being sold out, I'm stoked we've got 78k+ to a game in Sydney... how is that still not enough?

It's going to be a great crowd, no doubt, but I mean Melbourne can get 80,000 to some regular season games. I'm just not sure what Sydneys problem is. It's probably going to be the biggest match of the year outside of the Gf, which probably won't sell out either.

If the GF is Bulldogs v Dragons, it will sell out DAYS ahead of time, no doubt about it.

Three whole bays, looked incredible. After kickoff they all sat down and it looked like a carpet

Well done Sydney fans. 80k looks awesome in that stadium.

That Blue Wiggers seem to be getting bigger by the year. Those three full bays looked spectacular.
