Its now a handicap system , you can cheat and the nrl guess what the cheating is worth. So in future buy over the cap and hope your bought team can cover the points deducted in wins?
Cheating is cheating , withdraw ALL possibilities of wiining , not just a handicap.
A
100m steriod cheat doesn't get the chance to start 3m behind the non cheaters.

meh, the rest of the league and the daily telegraph got what they wanted. if we weren't always self destructing what they write about?

our season is over and to be fair we shouldn't be allowed to accrue points this season. we have put together a squad using dodgy TPA tactics, whether we remove $570k from our cap or not.

we will be forced to remove some players (Watmough) and others may be interested in leaving immediately or taking up clauses in contracts (Paulo, Foran come to mind). Norman is off contract and on fire, a club like the roosters are becoming more and more likely o pick him up. It will probably be another 3-4 years before we put together a squad somewhere near this caliber under legal circumstances. Which is really what we deserve. we deserve to have our team and our administrators ripped apart and made to start from fresh. the only potential reason this wouldn't happen is because the group is really tight. that will be tested over the next 15 games.

i mean, i was just about numb when i read the nrl statement of our punishments, but really i don't feel anymore embarrassed, disgusted or saddened than what i was back in 2012, 2013.

Stupid as they have the opportunity to Show cause dont they. Court would not touch it until the whole process has been completed IMO

Based on what came out of the AGM they'll be seeking an injunction on the penalties.

Personally I hope they're all banned for life by the club

Which begs the question

How did he get regestered by the NRL if they were over the cap ?

Because the NRL had no f**ken clue they were over the cap. Goes to show how effective their 'audit' process is. It was only when a disgruntled 'person' squeeled to the DT that the NRL became aware of it.

So why don't the teams that have already played Parramatta and lost get the points for those games instead. Otherwise the punishment for that game is the same for both Parramatta who were cheating and for the other team who played a side that was cheating

Because there is no guarantee they would have won. I bet all the other teams who have yet to play Parra would be real happy with that happening.

Did you actually read what happened in NQ you dimwit?

The fact the story died in the ass immediately after it's release once it was ascertained the amount the players paid for the land was exactly the markey value for that area. The stupid bitch who 'broke the news' thought them paying $460k for a house and land package was paying well unders and thought something dodge was going on...... Well it would be well unders if it was in Sydney ffs.

Therein lies half the problem with the cap - and the whole NRL in fact. It is not an even playing field. It is cheaper to live in certain areas so that clubs clearly benefit by being able to pay less than they would need to live in Sydney. And they get reasonably priced land and houses trough TPA's.
It just does not work.

Is there enough in those 3 players?
Don't you then have to replace them with minimum wage players?

I beleive they are only asking for an injunction on their deregistration, not the other penalties

Im just about the same.

Today was a dark day for Parramatta, but those two years were darker. Every week was a flogging and you'd turn up to home matches thinking, how many are they gonna beat us by?

CEO's, board members, coaches and players changing.

Its even worse looking back that we were over the cap back then for a team who'd run last.

This has been going on for a long time it was just a matter of when the NRL would hand out the punishment.

Yes but the top 25 is your top 25 highest paid players, so they may not be minimum wage players at all. Could be lower tier players being kept on 100k or so..

Yeah but how often do you hear players whinge that they want to live in Sydney (for some reason) and they take shitter contracts just to do so.

It's very rare that the reasonable cost of living in NQ has helped them build a strong team. They were perennial bottom-feeders for decades!

There is with Watmough. Some people who would know have indicated his retirement was coming very soon (before all this) and that he has secured insurance. So if true, Morgan and another knuckle head or two would do it.

Typical self interest from Parramatta political figures.
