I agree, players are not known for their intellect, but they are smart enough to know that cash payment is outside the cap.

You reckon?

What about someone who makes an excuse for not being in Brisbane when he said he would be because he said planes weren't flying due to rain? That doesn't sound like someone who knows the front of a boat from the back of a boat.

If the cash payments or fictitious invoices allegations are proven then the club has to cop a penalty. Everything else is bullshit. Unspecified TPA problems, rolling them into one year to make it sound worse - all unnecessary if the cash & invoice stuff is real anyway.

Kent on NRL 360 last night claimed Parra are spending 50k a day on lawyers. Sounds bullshit, especially coming from him but given the club's history, wouldn't surprise if they're paying overs for legal advice as well.

The key to that is, if they are paying then Parra Leagues club is paying.

None of the 5 is out of pocket.......

It still does seem like a lot to pay for lawyers.

As bad as the 5 Parra executives may have been acting, they have still retained more credibility than Paul Kent

Unspecified TPA problems ? Here's some light reading for you. Seems pretty specific to me.

"Gents, on Monday the 20th of July [NRL salary cap auditor] Jamie L'Oste Brown is due to conduct a mid-year salary cap review," Farish wrote in the email, dated July 10, 2015, with the subject line 'TPA'.
"We've identified the following exposures around potential deals on TPAs. I'm anxious to ensure that everyone is on the same page in dealing with these. If a TPA is not registered and discovered, Jamie can refuse to make it cap exempt."
Under the heading of 'registered TPA' Farish continued: "TPAs are exempt from the cap under certain conditions. The main condition is that the company is not an associated entity. We have two TPAs registered for Anthony Watmough being ScoreCube $75,000 and PJ Promotions $50,000. ScoreCube is a 100 per cent subsidiary of Black Citrus who are a supplier of PNRL. Stephen Moss is the only director and the ScoreCube website is heavily branded Black Citrus.
"PJ Promotions are associated with [club consultant] Tracy. This condition is not as obvious as the Black Citrus connection but the NRL may query why a Newcastle-based promotion company want to spend $50,000-a-year for four years on Watmough. Tracy was promised reciprocal funding by Scott but has executed a TPA for four years with no matching funding.
"In summary, my major concerns are: ScoreCube TPA is easily connected to the club and even though it's approved at the moment the rules give the NRL ample room to reverse the decision. As a minimum I feel that we should self-report ScoreCube and flag that we have investigations ongoing."

Peates->titans confirmed on footy show. They're playing for points Friday

Well right this instant they won't be, not until the Watmough issue is dealt with.
Parramatta now being compliant is under the assumption that his medical retirement from a 'new' injury will be given the all clear. Whether the ruling is released by Friday could still see them possibly playing for no points.

Parramatta fans are the best, seriously.

When Melbourne beat them in the GF and were later revealed to have exceeded the cap, you should of heard the outcry, obviously everyone except Melbourne was making noise but the way Parramatta fans carried on you would of thought that each of the Melbourne players had banged their Mrs (all in the same night), let's forget the fact that other teams had also lost in that very same finals series to Melbourne, they feel like they were robbed.

Fast forward now, Parramatta have been caught cheating the cap and here we have moronic Parramatta fans trying to tell us they weren't cheating, despite having f**k all knowledge of the findings or what exactly took place.. too good, well trolled and if you're not trolling, smash a glass bottle over your face for being such a hypocritical halfwit

Storm eliminated us in our last three finals appearances while they were over the cap, of course we were f**king angry. Still hate the f**king merkins, and the fact a bunch of dumb f**kers on our board managed to cheat us to wooden spoons isn't going to change that.

Mekbourne exceeded the cap? That is your understanding of what happened?

And just like that, you've scored yourself your own version of 'never heard of the f**ker'.

If you used some insight, you would know he's challenging your use of the word exceeded when describing what the Storm did.

Petty argument and you're equally as stupid for not realising it.

It is ridiculous that Parra are even a chance of playing for points again on 2016.

I feel for Peats.

How can players use the ignorance card if they were getting cash payments? Surely at least some knew and should face serious consequences. Anyone getting cash should be suspended for a year at least

The storm players didn't apparently have any responsibility accepting payment via boats and $10K gift cards, nor did dining multiple contracts even get flagged as something they should have thought odd.

I can't see how any player regardless of how they are paid can ever be held responsible cen what they let he storm boys get away with

It was put in the too hard basket to put blame on the players- might have caused a game-wide revolt.

Doesn't mean they knew nothing though...
