I hope this is a mis-report.

Surely these f@$&ing imbeciles would not be stupid enough to fight this????

We need to challenge it for the good of other clubs. You cannot have a situation were the CEO (and judge) is adjudicating on evidence provided to him by his mate when his mate is up to his nuts in it.
Parra will not get the points back and our season is done so nothing to worry about there, but I want to get to the bottom of Seward's involvement and more importantly Greenberg's involvement.

Eels Board Decide To Appeal NRL Sanction

The Eels board have decided to appeal the salary cap sanction handed down by the NRL, specifically concerning the 12 point deduction.

This comes after the board held a meeting this afternoon to settle on its response to the NRL's punishment, which included the loss of 12 points and a $1 million fine.

Significantly, the club won't be challenging the deregistration of the five board members dubbed the 'Gang of Five'.

“I think it is vital that we appeal,” Parramatta Director Peter Garrard told the Parramatta Advertiser.

“In (NRL chief executive) Todd Greenberg’s statement, he said that the club has the right to appeal, and I think we should work within the system.

“In all of this, it doesn’t matter who is on the board, Parramatta is guilty of indiscriminate breaches between 2013 and 2015.

“The present board for the last 15 months has dealt with a lot of issues, and the actions of this board have been to resolve issues of previous administrations.

“The penalty is ought to be mitigated by the very clear work the board has down to satisfy the NRL’s governance review ... whether it be the points or the fine.”

lol what a f**cking rabble of a club.

They won games this year whilst exceeding the salary cap. What are they going to argue?

I wonder what grounds of appeal they feel they have? Could only really be severity of punishment but seeing as most consider they got off lightly I'm not sure they will have much grounds. Clearly got money to burn on lawyers.

Given they are being investigated by the police I'd have thought they'd be saving their legal fee money for possible bigger issues!

probably that they decided to put dodgy TPA's from years ago into this years cap

they are also including TPA's that will never be paid in next years cap

because they were guaranteed payment which helped induce players to sign to the club. Of course they should be included.

Someone independent of Greenberg needs to take a look at this. We need to jump through the NRL hoops re appeals but ultimately this is heading to the Courts.
Like many I would like to see the involvement of Seward and how Greenberg gets into the mix there - it is nothing short of bizarre that Seward has escaped this when he was obviously one of if not the key player.
Get this, the only thing between Seward and another job at an NRL club right now is his mate Greenberg!!

Disappointing. Would like to see this whole thing come to an end so everyone can move on, especially as we close in on the finals.

They have the right to appeal, but I hope it gets squashed quickly.

For gods sake let's move on accept the punishment and goooooo

why, can't move on properly as a club until we get to the bottom of it. At present we don't even seem to know if Seward was involved or not. The NRL has made a whistle blowing, squeaky clean hero out of him.
