Daily Telecrap at their lowest - Rugby league is not a sport, it's an atrocity

In England we tried buggering them at boarding schools to get them to see shrinks, but they rather seemed to enjoy it.

Personally I don't understand the vitriol between codes (or it's supporters) and I personally think that people can enjoy whatever code they wish to enjoy. After all, enjoying different codes doesnt actually hurt anyone.

I haven't read the Rugby Union forums and I've no intention of ever doing so, but if you were rude about League supporters over there, I can only begin to wonder at what you'd want to do here. But then much about the Universe puzzles me. For example, why did Rick Astley have a hit? Who on earth would live in Newcastle and seemingly prefer to live in a North American ghetto? Why does kicking the ball to someone in the stands seem so important in Rugby Union?

I'm not offended by the original article, because as I said before anyone who loves league will quite rightly discount it's ramblings and anyone who isnt interested in sport wouldnt have read it in the first place. The only people who would have gotten joy from it would have been the choir that had already converted and heaven alone knows there arent that many of them in the first place reading the Daily f**king Telegraph.

I wish you all the best Karl I really do. You support the Broncos AND Rugby Union so that's two strikes against you in my book, but I'm willing to be play fair and give you the benefit of the doubt.

Thanks mate. I appreciate a bloke who can despise a mans choices and yet support his right to make them :). I just wanted to join a forum where I could inform myself on the latest in the League world, got mired in this thread when I commented that I thought everyone was taking the article a little too seriously and the rest is history. Been counter punching ever since.

I already did my mea culpas on this EA, in the relevant thread, explained where i got the info, acknowledged it was clearly a ridiculous number etc etc, move on.

And I f**king love the way the post being nominated for witty masterpiece of the year is directly based on my suggestion as the way League hQ SHOULD have responded in the first place but I'm a despicable snob lowlife Union troll. Your favorite post was my idea boys, admittedly brilliantly executed by the author. Looks like I'm the first one to have applauded his efforts too.

Pretty interesting scenario hey lads?

Responding to an attack is a lot different to initiating an attack.

We may disagree on whether or not the original article is satire - I say it's hateful sensationalist garbage masquerading as journalism - but honestly we shouldn't be forced to have to respond to it in the first place.

No one from rugby league quarters fired the first broadside. It was just an unprovoked diatribe in order to sell papers. What does that tell you about their morals and intent?

Defend their right to say it all you want.

It doesn't make it any less contemptible.

Yeah I know, but it gets a wider audience in this forum therefore more people get to know that you claimed the RWC got 4.2 billion viewers and then admitted you got the information from wikipedia.

Are we there yet?

I'm a despicable snob lowlife Union troll.

Do you feel better now?

You clearly don't read anything I actually post.

I follow League too. I like it and give it lots of time of day. It's a very different game to Rugby but great to watch. SoO is one of the truly great Australian rivalries. And if you think GAGR Forum is Elitist, you've clearly never read it. There are some intolerant gits there but clearly they don't have a monopoly on it, this joint does just fine on that front.

Most Union fans in Australia follow Rugby League. Almost every Union troll who has darkened LU's door has, at some point, admitted to watching regularly.

By the way, if you want to talk about Union without being abused for being a troll, there is a thriving Union forum here at LU.....

Your the private school bully that says to his mates outside of school "I love league" then once inside the school gates "Mungoball" "brainless plebs etc".

The chip on your shoulder could be a bloody tourist attraction mate.

Do you admit that in your "own" forum you called the game Mungoball and stated that you doubted anyone would be able to write an equivalent article if they were from a League background?

For an opinion piece it has done it's job perfectly and it's those that are outraged that have done it.

The writer must be having a big laugh at the reaction it has generated.

There is little point carrying on about it and even less point writing negative things about league in response.

"Airtime"? We are discussing it in the LU forum, its the offseason there is little else to discuss. Do you think that the authors intent was to generate discussion on LU? "Oh wow now Ive made the bigtime Ive got 20+ pages on LU!"

Mong there is little point carrying on about almost anything on this forum, I mean there is entire thread dedicated to people's hair on this site

I still think it hilarious that you both continue the thread bubbling along whilst trying to condemn those that post in it.

What I said was, in response to ParraEels from here, posting over there that we were all "f**king hypocrits" that if someone from a "mungoball" wrote the same sort of article about Union I would applaud it, (because it was an entertaining piece of satire) but that I would be doubtful as to the authenticity of the authorship. The reason I would be doubtful is because it's not the approach that leaguies take. You guys tend to sit in forums like this and bash Rah Rahs or use those boof heads on the footy show or commentators at games etc. and it's always so serious. The article used a lot of humor and satire, which isn't your style. Had nothing to do with ability or intelligence. Those are your insecurities speaking.

This thread says a lot about Karla. After copping a deserved pummeling he drops to his knees and gobbles any c**k within reach.

Just can't help yourself, in your mind Union fans are an intelligence and class above hey?

That very same thread that Parra was in was full of League bashing responses.

And to claim that somehow the Footy show represents the views of all League fans, thats like saying David Campese is the spokesperson for all Union fans.

Regarding the writers amusement I am talking about the emails/comments generated through outrage from this thread.

If you had written a piece designed to stir and tha happened I would think you would be very pleased with the results, particularly if league fans write negative comments for publishing thinking this is somehow achieving something.

And the other point is it's just an opinion piece.. You would think it was written as a front page news item the way many are carrying on.

I sent carsguide an email saying that I will not be selling my car there nor will I ever look for a car on their website again due to the article.

1 email may not achieve anything but I encourage all of you to send a similar email to them.

x 2 and achieved a response, which they Carsguide themselves admiited was over the top.
