Tony Romo holder for kicker?

Punter, Chris Jones who is returning from injury would normally be the holder for extra point and field goal attempts. But the Cowboys are not so sure they want to risk the not 100 percent healthy Jones.

So it's possible that Tony Romo could get the gig. It brings back memories of that Seattle game of a few years back.

Cowboys To Sign Safety, Charlie Peprah
i

The Cowboys have agreed on a deal with veteran safety Charlie Peprah, who has 25 career starts, including one in Super Bowl XLV at Cowboys Stadium.

Now Peprah, who is from nearby Plano, Texas, returns to his hometown team of the Cowboys, who have had plenty of injuries at the safety position.

The deal has yet to be officially turned into the league office as the Cowboys are trying to figure out their 53-man roster and how to make room for their new safety.

Peprah, who has had knee issues the last year, was one of 16 players to work out for the Cowboys two weeks ago at Valley Ranch. He’s played six years in the league but his 25 starts have occurred in the last two seasons with the Packers, which included a Super Bowl run.

Yeh without Lee our defense is pretty much screwed.

Losing Lee is a huge loss. He is the leader of our defense and I am not sure how you replace him. But we are just going to have to.

Connor and Carter will now have to step up.

Losing Lee not only weakens our starting line up. With Connor now set to become a starter it weakens our depth.

Cowboys roster changes

Dallas have placed 2nd year punter Chris Jones on injured reserve. He has been suffering from a left knee sprain. Brian Moorman who has been on the Cowboys 53 men roster for a few weeks now becomes the teams #1 punter.

Following the season ending injury to ILB Sean Lee the Cowboys have signed veteran LB Ernie Sims.

ernie-sims.jpg

Sims was the 9th overall draft (Detroit Lions) pick in the 2006 draft. He is 27 years old, stands 6-0 and weighs 230 pounds. Played manily as an outside lineback er in 4-3 defense for the Lions and, Eagles and Colts. Where he started 75 of 87 games played. Better know for his run defense then rushing the passer. He has 536 (361/175) career tackles and 4.5 sacks.

Sims is trash
i was really excited to get him years ago, thought a change of scenery would unlock his talent, just never happened, undersized and cant finish his tackles

I think most people are questioning the signing of Sims. For the Cowboys style of defense he is very much undersized. Just not sure how he is going to fit in.

More importantly he has never lived up to his potential.
