Will be interesting to see who takes the job on.
On one hand we don't need "one of the boys" doing it, but you don't want someone too distant either.
Interesting times.

DAVID Gallop has officially resigned from his post as chief executive of the Australian Rugby League Commission.
The Daily Telegraph has reported that Gallop addressed all NRL staff at Rugby League Central headquarters in Moore Park at 1pm to inform them of his decision to resign.

Sources suggested last month that Gallop was growing weary of the post after more than a decade at the helm of the NRL. Gallop denied at the time that he was considering stepping down from his post.

Gallop’s resignation comes at a time when the NRL broadcast rights are being negotiated and several months after the ARLC independent commission was formed.

There have been reports of tension between Gallop and ARLC chairman John Grant, however it is not known whether this was the reason behind his decision to resign.

It is not known whether a successor has been appointed.

Dunno whether to be unhappy or jumping for joy.

I'll wait to see who takes over.

We need a young, energentic, forward-thinker in this position who is proactive rather than reactive.

Nice payout too. Long service would be up. Wage increase. Retirement. No more stress of cap rorting, rape allegations, unruly players, self interest at every level.

Don Furner Jr gets my vote to run the NRL.

Todd Greenbeerg would be the obvious choice if they are going to recruit from within.

If not, I'm available for the right price.

I would hate to lose him at the bulldogs but Greenburg would be a brilliant replacement

Why?

Although the DT go troppo over him, Greenberg was just getting canterbury to do what many other clubs had been doing for some time.

Did a serviceable job in often difficult circumstances.

Moving forward it is the right step to make
