Jerseys in general are a tough sale this season I have sold a Roosters and a Dragons and have a Broncos on layby. Even Origin has been slow, Have 1 queensland and 1 nsw on layby and have sold 2 NSW ones and the game is on tomorrow night.
At least our jerseys are one of the best priced in the market, Broncos and Bulldogs are near $200, Manly, Storm and Titans about $180 the rest are 150-160.
Thats the biggest problem with the NRL the jerseys are made by 7 different brands makeing it harder to retail as prices vary and you need mimimum orders.
Yet the Sponsors get a walking billboard and NRL get 15% royalties from each jersey.
The A-league are all made by Reebok and you get all the gear from the one supplier at the same price for each team.

Remember Super League. Every Super League's club Jersey was made by 1 supplier. Nike.

There were so many long sighted idea's out of that War. 4 Sydney Clubs would be helpful about now. Sure everyone can scream all the like about a merger not being their club. It was interesting Reading the big league a few weeks about with John Cartwright's POV. That the league needs to go National to secure more income, Having Teams in Perth and Adelaide could also push 9 and foxtel to larger sums for broadcast rights.

Cartwright said, Keep the 3 Queensland Teams, Newcastle, Manly, Raiders, Wollongong, Melbourne, New Zealand, add Central Coast,Perth, Adelaide, Then 4 Sydney teams, out of (Sydney Roosters, South Sydney Rabbitohs, West Tigers, Cronulla, Canterbury, Parramatta, and Penrith).

Personally, the Sharks Going to South Australia and the Panthers Going to Perth work for me. Then Re-split the West Tigers, to give Balmain to Parramatta and Wests to Canterbury. Merge the Roosters and Rabbits (i know they hate each other).

Call our team the Cumberland Patriots , of Gold Blue and Black. Have an Eels Logo on one sleeve and Tigers on the other. Our Catchment area would be from the Start of Parramatta Road to The Mountains. Play out of Parramatta Stadium, or push to get a New 40,000 Seat Stadium built at Rooty Hill, in the Blacktown Olympic Area, right on the M7 and Train Lines.

Win a Few premierships in the first 10 years and their is your "Tradition" being created.

The Make sure the current clubs still compete in the NSWRL cup. You might increase people going to those games as well. Arhhh what am I talking about. . . .

Personally if the eels merge with anyone, I do not follow them anymore. I cannot belive you would go along with us being called Cumberland whatever or a mutated form of anything.

You use capitals at the most random points in sentences.

I have wanted to say that for a while now.

Why can't you believe that I would do that? The Parramatta Eels would remain, Play in Blue and Gold and be Based out of Parramatta playing the NSWRL, they just wouldn't be a stand alone club in the National Rugby League.

It is a very annoYing habit of his.

I would imagine though, the number of people to continue to watch Parramatta at a lower league level would be neglible.

Seriously, if a city like Parramatta, which has the biggest CBD in NSW outside of Sydney, which is a stones throw away from the grow in the hills or norwest, cant sustain a standalone team then the game should give up.

Parramatta merge, then I only have one 'football' side, that being Sydney FC.

The Sydney teams can all survive. What we need is a team in Perth, another team in Qld and NZ. We also need to entice a Sydney team to go the the Central Coast.

The AFL survive quite well with teams like Carlton, Collingwood Hawthorn etc. Their strength is that they are truly national. Which is what we need to be. We were heading in the right direction then people like Ribot, Murdoch etc f*cked it and we are still in rehab mode and have not yet fully recovered.

You can shove the NSWRL amateur comp up your arse. The Eels are good enough and big enough to play in a National Competition.

True but part of that "right Direction" was to Reduce the number of teams in Sydney. There is some very interesting information floating around in a few books about the war.

BTW where would you put the Other Queensland Team, I assume the NZ team is going to Wellington.

Are they? You ask a few people around here the only thing we have is our Brand and we are not utilising that to its maximum. . . or so they say.

There were probably thousands of Tigers fans and Wests fans that gave the game away when they merged, and guess what? A lot of them came back 'cause they love Rugby League.

Superleague did not work and will never ever work because they understimated the power and tribalism of Sydney based teams. This is not the NSL, where they had a fragmented history of 20 odd years and then created an A League. This is a 100 year old comp that is a big part of all our lives. Its needs to be tweaked not mutated.

The solution is not to merge. The solution is to rid ourselves of the chook raffle mentality that people like Steve Edge have in the marketing and promotion of our club.

Seriously Suity

Do you see Magpies in that team ? I don't. They are dead. Just like Illawarra Steelers are in the St George Illawarra merge.

Interesting Point.

Lets examine that shall we.

Super League, played for the Telstra Cup, the NRL Plays for the Telstra Premiership

Super League sold it's Pay TV rights to Foxtel Exclusively. The NRL is exclusively on Foxtel in Australia.

During the War there were 22 teams. Now 16, which is a reduction, to keep clubs viable.

If anyone thinks that Super league didn't win. They are kidding themselves.

They won financially, but their vision died in the arse.

They wanted 12. We had 20, we settled for 16 and will have 2 more soon. It was never about the amount of teams. It was just about pay tv rights.
