The guy coached me in harold mats,so much respect for him he wouldnt let us swear, spit or stare at girls.I only once saw him lose his cool and he has an aura about him that everything that leaves his mouth is absorbing.
he does come accross a decent man, i wouldnt be disappointed with him i still reckon mayers the mayor!

Yeah but i bet you saw ray price, sterling or cronin as good ones, anglo saxans have a much broader range of role models as where certain races need all the role models they can get.
the only true role models are people you have immediate contact with, not sports or tv people

I actually agree with this but society is so dumbed down that they look to outside influences for a sense of security of there identity.I mean look at the majority of 13-20 year old girls thats thanks to your lindsay lohans and paris hiltons where they should really be looking to there mothers. You see thats the problem with the some certain lebanese youth they have lost there true culture and adopted a shallow false one where what they need to do is get back to there roots.

Or were they all just part of the mix thrown together to work towards a goal and the ones that were the best shot at it the ones that stuck around?

Let's not go too far with conspiracy theories... it's all over now

and everyone who was with 3P, or was and then left them like Parra Future are now irrelevant, the only people that we should concern ourselves with are the board members and their actions.

That is correct. Although I'd quite like to see Col around the traps and getting involved with footy talk with the rest of us :D

I love being on here too much, so I can't walk away. I have too much fun reading the posts, participating occasionally and getting involved in the odd stoush every now and again.

To be honest, the thing that most excited me about 3P's stilt for the LC was the openness fostered by Col, evident at the January balcony open-invite meetings and the information (not slogans) that he would pass on to fans/members on here at the time. It seemed to indicate that under 3P a welcome new period of openness, communication and participation with all fans and members would be forthcoming.

The 3P FC campaign made sense by itself - get some footy people on the footy board and end the situation where the same 7 people sat on 3 separate boards. But the LC campaign after Col wasn't as much a part of it was just ordinary politicking, and hence my enthusiasm for what might be achieved waned dramatically. I guess other people will have their own views of what might have been the mistake...

And before anyone attempts to bounce an alternate view out of the forums again, it's just an opinion.... ;-)

You might want things to be that way. But they aren't.

People will choose their own heroes. And rarely will they be people they are in direct contact with. Familiarity breeds contempt. That is a harsh saying - but familiarity lets you see real people, warts and all. The manufactured personas of celebrities and sports stars hides the real elements. Hence the unrealistic expectations and unavoidable letdowns and denials that follow.

It is an interesting question Stagger, now will it fade to the back ground with the "Code of Silence" Issue currently reigning the league consciousness.
