I've changed my vote to "no", for one simple reason:

I truly believe that in Ryan Matterson, and Shaun Lane, we have two excellent edge forwards (maybe the envy of a lot of the NRL).

But we hardly use them I'm attack; although Dylan Brown was using Lane in a lot of his attacking plays, they were always the same plays (Brown gets the ball, runs, straightens, pops a pass before the line to Lane).

Our forward pack is our crown jewel, and we can play physical football, or football with flair - but we often tend to play panic football.

It's true that a lack of experience is hurting us; however, I think Arthur needs to devise some better attacking structures with his support staff.

Until he can do that, I'm off him a bit.

He's done a tremendous job all around - but seeing our squad play so unimaginatively really makes me sad. There is so much talent in this team.

I have to disagree.

We are limited by the cattle we have. Until our halves and Hooker (which will hopefully come with experience) provide a platform that allows our middle forwards to push through the middle then forget it.

If we start pushing the passes/plays out wide with no depth to our attack it creates way too much risk.

We need to be getting into the grind, minimising mistakes and pushing through the middle. Our attack will come off the back of patience, simplicity, quality ball to our middle forwards and a good kicking game.

Our attack is a by product of completing our sets and having our key playmakers taking opportunities that are not low percentage (once again this comes with experience) off the back of opposition fatigue and our own structures.

We over achieved last year. If we finish anywhere higher than 6th this year with all things considered we will have over achieved again. The key is that our playmakers will have another year experience.

Our halves should be offering a lot more support play and a lot less waiting for the ball with shape outside them.

Really good points.

But our playmakers not doing what they should comes down to coaching, imo.

Absolutely, mate.

But that's a coaching issue, as well.

I like Arthur, but I think his limitations outweigh his positives at this stage.
It's impossible to know whether they're doing exactly what they've been told to do or just making wrong decisions. These are our decision makers we're talking about. They need the freedom to decide whether they need to stay involved in the current play or set up for the next one. The coach can't read the play for them.

BA has been a decent coach. This year is his acid test. I feel 2015 and 2016 he had excuses.Hard to gauge those 2 seasons.

2014 was a rebuild.
2018 was a complete disaster.
2017,2019,2020 where good seasons.

If we made the top 5 again I would be happy and think BA done well.
6-8 and put first week I would feel like he did his job but we are not progressing and should be moved on.But wont be upset if he isn't.

Outside the top 8 and he has to go. The squad is his. He put it together. He went for Waqa and RCG. He also extended Lane and put a lot of faith in Moses and the juniors.

It's an exciting year. I reckon he might be the coach under the most pressure. Even a top 8 finish may not be e outh to keep his job.

That's very true.

I'm willing to give Dylan Brown, and Reed Mahoney, the benefit of the doubt - both are still young, relatively inexperienced, and have shown glimpses of huge potential.

But I expect better from Moses.

Hands down, he's the most talented, and skilful, halfback in the NRL - but he just isn't a cool head under pressure.

But whether they play that way because it's their instruction, or because they don't have the experience to know better, we will never know.

But one thing is for sure - on paper, we have a pretty good squad. We should push for a top 6 finish; I believe we can do it.

I even think we can realistically push for a top 4 finish, if the cards fall our way.

I hope we can utilise our full potential - a big, powerful, mobile pack, with lots of skill.

The game will be faster (again) this year. If we don't exploit the rules to our advantage then we'll be left behind. Personally, I don't see too much to get excited over for 2021. We'll win our fair share but will be left wanting come finals time, if we make them. I didn't predict us to make the finals in the prediction thread so there's that. 2021 is BA's time to make a goose of me, and I'd be ecstatic if he did.

Hypothetical - would anyone replace BA and Moses with Bennett and Adam Reynolds for 2022 and 2023?? Both available.

I never thought I'd say it but I'd take Bennett... But probably not Reynolds, I don't think he'd complement Dylbags... We badly need a game breaker like Cody Walker instead...

I think most people would take Bennett. But Reynolds...probably not give the way the rules are moving. I think you'd rather Reynolds now, not a year down the track. I must admit that I get this idea in my head that Reynolds is always injured....but he plays a lot of games each season.

I’ve been thinking if for whatever reason Moses or Drown weren’t here next year then Reynolds would be a timely replacement. But I’d still take Moses or Drown over him and next year could be a year closer to taking Jrthur over him

Are our halves really capable of playing ‘imaginative’ and not shitting the bed? On a consistent basis. I have my doubts. Attacking structures are not worth a pile of plop if players can’t execute under pressure.
