Are our halves really capable of playing ‘imaginative’ and not shitting the bed? On a consistent basis. I have my doubts. Attacking structures are not worth a pile of plop if players can’t execute under pressure.

I believe they are talented enough to do so, but are unable to.

It isn't just on BA'S shoulders - but unlocking their full potential is definitely part of his job.

He was smart enough to get the greatest ever half to play the game on the payroll. If our halves don’t improve it won’t be because they weren’t given every opportunity to.

I didn't realise Peter Sterling was on our payroll! That's excellent!

But point taken.

Who watched Building Titans? I really enjoyed it.
Holbrook. He's turning that club around. I never wanted him to leave our Eels and even then was advocating to get him back. I know, I've been banging on about him for years but I reckon its a huge opportunity missed although I'm sure some won't agree. Look what he's done with The Fog. Could have been the perfect successor to BA.

Plenty mentioned it on here but if you watch that rebuilding of the Titans show on FOXTEL all the ‘experts’ headed by Phil Gould thought it was a bad move by the Titans and it still may be. Remember Seibold was the next big thing and even won coach of the year before getting a spoon with the Broncos.

Titans under Holbrook basically did pretty much what the eels did under BA in his first year........

let’s wait and see if Holbrook is the next coaching goat.....

additionally appears there isn’t any factions on the Gold Coast to leak how they signed the best young forwards in the game .....

I’ve been watching ‘Building the Eels’ in real life over the last 4-5 years. We’ve gone from cellar dwellers to Top 4. It would make a great TV show.
Part 1 has already been filmed. In Part 2 the coach gets sacked and is replaced by Wayne Bennett who urges him to stay on as an assistant. He doesn’t and ends up coaching the Tigers after Madge is sacked. He then is eventually sacked and becomes an Uber driver with Phil Economidis.

Any side paying a 2nd rower 1.2mill in my eyes will struggle. The spine is still very up in the air also. Fogarty,Taylor,Rein. They all may end up in NSW cup within 18mths. Id say the odds are higher they will then not.

Season 3 is great. Two men come from the wood work and put together a squad that plays the best footy anyone has seen. The bond they build with the team can't be broken and they go on to win 5 straight premierships.

In season 40, the coach's son becomes the 50th Importal having led his team to 10 premierships after following his father to a new expansion franchise
