A few against sacking BA, is because no use sacking him if there isn’t a better option…..

and probably the best option Flanagan (and potentially better coach) has some questionable past offences…..

while is Bennett a realistic option? To expensive? Does he want to stay in Sydney?

Additionally giving a rookie a go is a big risk especially if they don’t have head coaching experience in the UK

Barrett, O’Brien, Holbrook, Brennan, Payten, all promising assistants have hardly set the NRL on fire.

however potentially rookie options may include Ryles, Ciraldo. WouId they be better then BA?

then there is long shot options in Kearney/Seibold (wouId they be better within a better system / with a better squad)?

so who is the best option? Is there a better option? Is it as simple as just sacking BA.

there is plenty to consider by the board…

id give arthur one more year but with different assistants

I agree with you .

in terms of recruiting and getting the best of the players I think he has done an admirable job .

however I think his assistants could be better , you want assistants that are capable of landing the head coaching gig when coach eventually moves .

we also need an attacking coach , I have never been impressed with our attack , we like to move ball side ways but our halves tend to not have options on who to throw the ball to as our shape doesn’t seem to have many ball runners running at pace to be an option

"we have confidence in Brad and our leaders"
Key point right here, and Wayne Bennett said it himself in his book. Every club has a group of players at least as influential as the coach, which explains why they're likely getting paid more than him. Often these players are responsible for the coach getting the arse. These players are the ones most responsible for when a team gives up. Their job is to lead.

In the early days I sent him to the rubber room because he realised this was true and he had a well deserved break from the forum.

Remember that @Poupou Escobar ? It would have been about the same time when you told me Newtown was a bad place to invest in 2013.

You f**king dribbler. LOL.
Yeah I do remember it. I thought you were my friend and you betrayed me for sticking up for the club. I was gutted.

Last nights game thread was a low point. I understand that fans want to see us do better, but it came across as if people were more interesting in revelling about how they were 'right' about BA rather than what actually happened during the game.
Exactly. "I told you so" after a heavy loss. No different to an opposition fan who hates our club.

How many changes did Bennett make after a couple of fifty point floggings?

By red hot top 2 sides in comp. Not a depleted Roosters side, Dragons,Manly,Souths and a loss to the Raiders.
Huge class difference between a full strength Penrith and a depleted Roosters side. I means Penrith minus 5 of their best took care of Roosters. It shows the difference in class. What would a full strength Penrith of done to the Roosters tonight? I'd say 30 point win min.

There has to be a cost benefit analysis when deciding to bring in a coach like Uncle Wayne.

He may be 2 or 3 times the price of the next level down but if he brings you a premiership, especially to a club like the Eels who have a sleeping giant fanbase, which you can clearly see by our climbing membership numbers with our consistent finals appearances since 2017. Brining in a premiership will bring in massive dollars through membership, merchandise and sponsorship.

So the question has to be is it worth it for the club and that is the decision the board need to make.

Of course, if Uncle Wayne is as successful here as he was at the Knights then we lose out and the money spent wasn't worth it.

If i am the club/board i chase him hard but i really want to hear what he has to say about how the f**k he turns our culture around and sets us up going forward because while he turned the Dragons around while he was there, look at what they have turned into......there needs to be continuity after he leaves too, IMO.

Anyways, it isn't a simple as just sacking BA, there has to be a better alternative.

Flanagan is probably a better alternative but there is also a risk with his history that needs to be assessed before you could make that decision to bring him in. Not just from a sponsors point of view but have players in the NRL lost faith in him? Will he have their respect when he is ripping into them when they know he has cheated and been involved in scandalous activities?

I would take the risk because i don't think footballers are all that bright and don't think that way but i may be completely off and it could backfire and we would be no better off under Flanagan.

And Flanagan wasn't really known for great attacking teams, most people here would be whinging that we don't score enough points to trouble the good teams.......Parra fans like to whinge a lot and think they know better than everyone.......

He does it for fun, not because he actually believes it.
Yes it's fun, but who the f**k are you to say what I do and don't believe. If I wasn't passionate about the club I wouldn't waste so much time here. If you're referring to me arguing opposite sides of an issue it's because I can see and accept both sides. That's what I believe.

I think he sometimes goes too far, but I get why. Its f**ken frustrating reading some of the negative idiots on here.

Its ironic because virtually all of the so called 'apologists' have been very clear about our limitations.

It is what it is. I am smarter then all of you. I have a 2nd team and we are in it up to our eyes balls.

Bellends.

Well there was probably plenty at play contributing to all of that.
This is the biggest reason for my optimism for the future. When Mad Max took over and managed to get the board restructure through the voting members it set us up long term. We still have a lot of catching up to do but we're getting there. I have no doubt when Arthur leaves he'll be replaced by someone at least as good, but more importantly, our recruitment and retention is noticeably improving.

We also belted the Roosters. And the "red hot top 2 sides" only managed two tries each against us. They both put 50 on the Bunnies. Nobody can be up every week.
