We need a better coach mate. Do you think someone like Flanagan or Bennett would leave Will Smith as an edge second rower when Moses came back on? Yet he kept someone like Cartwight on the bench until the second half. The guy's bench rotations are an abomination and I can't wait to see the back of him.

My son and I thought for sure either Mahoney or Moses were off the field but when we saw them both there we both said, instabtly WTF Will Smith still doing there?
I reckon he left Will Smith on there because Moses going off was actually a mistake by the trainer... I mean Moses was only off for seconds and an interchange had been used up, probably unnecessarily. Losing Oregon after 48 seconds, meant there needed to be more rotations of the forwards throughout the remaining 79 minutes and with one wasted on Moses/Smith the remainder had to kept as long as possible.

While he has never done full-time coaching before, does anyone think Sterlo leaving his commentary might be because he has finally decided to get off the fence and actually help his beloved Eels with some more hands on.
Maybe he is going to come on board as our 'attack' coach or our 'halves coach' or in some other capacity to help BA fix the attack problems that he has talked about for the last few years.
Has got to be a better option than A Johns.

You know more than me about this stuff but I'd be surprised if it happened.

Also not convinced that Sterlo would be any good. I don't think he has the same knowledge and insights in commentary as the likes of Gould, Johns, Cronk or even Ennis.

But as we established earlier, that doesn't mean you can't coach.

Andrew Johns is deadset stealing a living off us...what's he actually done, that can be noticed?

Brown's game has regressed, and Moses' white-line fever is as prevalent as ever.

I don't understand what he is actually doing with our halves...

Last year, the excuse was that he had to coach through a fence.

What's his excuse now?

Sterlo certainly knows the game but has no track record or experience, would be a huge gamble imo

Surely at 61, and made a pretty decent living from what is essentially a part time gig, that when Sterlo says he is retiring that is what it means.

I would support him becoming a Director of the club, because I think having someone like that can only benefit the organisation. But any talk of him being involved in the coaching setup or the football operations side of the club is just bat shit crazy. It is probably the stupidest idea I have ever heard.

Just read the Michael Chammas article on BA and the clubs expectations this year.

Apparently they told BA to be more progressive etc and at least threaten the GF. It went on to say it’s a good roster without that elite $1million player that the other clubs at the top have. Then said Robinson laughed at any suggestion he would leave the comfort of Nick Politis and the Roosters: that comment actually said a lot.

Guthos manager said he is looking for 7 figures on his next contract as he took unders last time, great club man but unfortunately not an elite million $ player.

Looks like an interesting run to the end of the season and it’s aftermath.

For the best, I reckon - he didn't do much, from what could be seen on the field.

mahoney has improved his attack, while Moses kicking game is now very good. Was that just because of Joey ? Or not? Or combination?

anyhow I reckon joey’s involvement was probably overstated, isn’t it individual coaching? Rather then having a say into our attacking structure?
