Bs done well with the jnrs. Hagan neglected them somewhat. DA came in at the wrong time and him making the gf only prolonged his stay. SK and RS done more harm than good. Ba has been here 9 years and it would be nice to have a few exciting jrns coming thru, but we don’t. Not looking to pick a fight just stating why are you jrns poor. Is the system Broken?

We unearthed Mahoney, Dylan, Penisini in the last 3yrs. Not much else to talk about however. A few average guys like Dunster,Kafusi......

The only 4 Parra juniors (Penisini, J Arthur, Loizou & Russell) under 21 that are in our first grade system right now all played for the same team and were coached by none other then BA all the way in the junior teams at Rouse Hill. Not one other Junior club in our whole area has a kid at the same age group close to our first grade team or system atm. Can you find me one.
Have any of them signed with any other NRL clubs?

Honestly looking back I think the problems started with Smith. Smith did well with Cleal going bush. Once Cleal was shat off, we got “lucky” with Tim Smith and Hayne.
Then Hagan did shit all with them, Anderson tried but wasn’t equipped to deal with it fully, Stuart was in and out the door and Kearney… well…
Say what you will about how he got most of them but Penisini & Drown could be good (struggling to talk any players up after yesterday), Dunster was going well last year, Russell shows promise and others.
We may not be great at it, but if it’s broken into coaching tenures, BA has been ok at it

Can we call Rheed our junior?

Yes. He was tossed out by his last club and not seen as an NRL player.
You also have to credit the staff for spotting Papali'i and Marata. 15 other clubs didn't see the potential that we did. Of course it might be throw enough darts and hit a few winners. But had we not seen potential we wouldn't of signed them.

Issue is the flow of juniors. It should be a little stronger. Not one every few years. Min 1-2 a season should be coming through the system.

Life goes on. I'm happy to let the season unfold and see how we react. Won't give up hope yet. If we implode perhaps we look elsewhere for 2023. We've been shaky the last 12mths. But have had some great wins.
The games we have lost we have played awful and lacked effort. It would be worse if we played OK and got thumped.

Geez like Newcastle, just sort it out.

f**k Manly.

Then beat all Qld teams which includes Melbourne, and Souths the sellouts.

Fix it, you ain't won since I was a kid, I am old.

Fix it please.

Hopefully this keeps Dylan's and Moses price down.
I hope fans don't try and ever say Mitch is as good as Nathan. Not in the same calibre. The way Moses was carrying on yesterday and losing his shit was terrible. His shot at goal summed up where his head was at.

Matt Cameron.
2 years before that they poached the GM junior league, he set up a lot of their structures before he basically retired 3 years ago. He didn’t want to leave the Eels but DA refused to get close to the Riff salary.

Not sure the person who took hiis place and is still there was the right choice , given how the junior league has performed since.

You have no faith in our junior system? I have no idea as have no connections. I just thought we had sorted that out in the last few years.

Despite all the favouritism blogs, most of the players coming through are from Hills and Wenty, which was the norm previously. Juniors go in cycles, the Rhinos boys all went to Blacktown Pats, it changes. Been involved in both Parra and Penrith juniors in the previous 10 years, some Riff junior rep teams are struggling , but they appear better organised.

What it disappointing is the lack of outside recruiting, seem to lack presence in NZ and even country footy. Perhaps that needs time.
