We had heaps of money in the cap. We've signed Davey, Ofahengaue and Lussick since the season started. That's the benefit of leaving cap space instead of paying overs during the off season. When bargains come available you can snap them up. Smart moves by O'Neill.
Besides Davey I rate the other two acquisitions however BA, MON and the committee had a major brain fart with the lack of backs.

Last year was him squeezing the lemon dry, he’s taken us as far as he can IMO. We just have to find the right replacement. Next season should be his last.
I reckon we could be looking at someone like Holbrook. He's been here and has plenty of experience.

The squeezed lemon doesn't refer to the coach, it refers to the salary cap moves that got us into a strong position. It's peaks and troughs and has nothing to do with the coach. It's a whole club effort. That's why coaches stay at clubs for so long now.

Merkins whinge that Arthur's has been at the club for nearly ten years, but Bellamy, Stuart and Robinson have all been at their clubs for at least as long. If they're a good coach and they're a good fit why get rid of them based on some old idea about coaches having a limited shelf life? Of course group dynamics change, and sometimes things need a shake up, which can include getting rid of the coach. But one bad season tells us nothing about that. A few more injuries and suspensions in 2022 and we could have missed the finals instead of making the grand final. You can't help bad luck. If we miss the finals next year I'll start to worry that we need to get the broom out.

Holbrook is definitely an interesting one. On the one hand the Titans are a top 8 team if they could defend. On the other hand, the Titans still can’t defend.
With a good support staff it could work though.

Plus Arthur broke two mirrors when he joined which has extended his bad luck to 14 years. That’s why he needs another extension.

More absolute subjective waffle masquerading as attempted insight...

He's gone to the Roosters as an assistant. Might fancy his chances taking over there from Robinson if he shifts?
That would be the plan. So much for promoting within for The Brave Roosters as they told everyone. Id suggest Holbrook has signed a pretty tight contract with possibly some guarantees.
Media is saying they snuck under Gus's guard. Looks like Gus is working on Ciraldos replacement already. 🤣
