surely if we don't finish in the top few this would be his last season, then again we need to go balls deep into the final series and not get KO'd in straight sets

also and more importantly, we need to be very fussy about who replaces him, we change just for the sake of it and go backwards

and for all the haters who say "anyone would be better than BA" that is simply not true and I don't see any point I going for recycled failures from other clubs

even the likes of Ciraldo is struggling at the Doggies and he was one I'm pretty sure we would have taken if the chance was there at he beginning of last season

I think we will be back in the top 6 next year. Like we were 1 win away from finishing 7th with all the disruption through stupid suspensions and injuries.

Win 1 more game were playing the sharks and probably getting to week 2 at a minimum whoever they played on that side on that draw.

The 2 seasons BA has gone into with no pressure on him as coach were ironically 2018 & 2023. Both seasons were complete disasters.

Every other season there has always been talk & pressure BA through the media and his finals record.

The team seems to do there best work when on the edge and written off.

If Macguire gets the job done for NZ and then NSW, I'd be looking closely at him.

Haha Ricky has the job for life down there may as well be a 10.

He is safer then BA.

He dud almost win a grand final and alsongas won finals games when huge underdogs. Lastly ear against Storm for example. Even this year's game against Newcastle was huge.
We've only won one finals game when we where slight underdogs against Cowboys. Plenty of other finals games We've had our pants pulled down and been humiliated with 13+ beatings.

The only positive out of BA finals record.

Is the Finals F/A under BA is actually in the positive +1.

Jake's last minute try in the GF got it out of red.

In terms of wins and losses yeah some of have been horrible and some losses dreadfully unlucky.

We have lost at least 2 finals due to ref decisions to sides who went on to win the comp. Storm 2017 & Penrith 2021.

I think if you switch those 2 results around BA would be up around 40-45 win% in finals i reckon we probably look at him a bit differently if that was the case.

If he'd just won one f**king title out of the 10 seasons - or were more than cannon fodder in the final game of any of the finals campaigns in the 5 seasons we made the top 8 - then none of us would have a problem with his record or his continuing as head coach of the club.

I think the trouble lies in a second decade of more of the same doesn't look likely to bring that consistent finals competitiveness or that title.

Take out that Boncos game at Commbank but and it probably doesn’t even match our 3 worst losses.
Still destroying the Boncos for a few seasons is close to worth it.

The other game which is a bit misleading was the Souffs 2020. Cook should’ve been binned for the penalty which Moses missed. Cook was basically MOM just in that final 20 minutes. Maybe we don’t win, but I also don’t think we concede the two tries we did in that 10 minutes if Cook is binned

Yeah that 2020 match we were screwed over by injuries Fergo/Sivo the week before and Jennings drug ban. It would have been tough to progress deep considering we had George Jennings, Brad Takairangi, Waqa Blake and Haze Dunster on debut in the backline. Those 4 combined is a minimum ron massey cup backline.

Would have been nice if Moses could kick a penalty goal from 10m basically in front. With 20 to go to tie it up game was lost in those 60 seconds.

And this bloke wanted $1 million a season...

Take a look at how Cleary took the Grand Final by the scruff of the neck, when his team needed him most.

Moses is over-rated, and overpaid, imo.

Moses is getting paid the right cash. Cleary is or should be on 40% more. If you want to point out who is being overpaid, then go after Ponga who has been by and large inconsistent and is on the same or more than Cleary.

Moses, Hynes etc are on the right money.

Wow is that a fact mate, I didn't realise that.
I agree that Ponga is too inconsistent to be on more money that Cleary.
I do wonder though....how good would Ponga have been if he had played for Penrith or a top 4 team in his NRL career.
Played under Greeny at NQ and got to the finals but only played a handful of games.
