I just watched the BA Presser.
"Canterbury threw lots at us"
"Both teams bought their "A" game.
He was of the opinion it was a good game and that we played well.
No doubt BA wants little more than completions. If we played that style each week and scraped wins he would be one very pleased coach.
Sorry BA. I love ya but I totally disagree.
Awful, awful football.

Well said Korny. On the budget thing - getting quality assistants may end up being cheaper than forking out for a new coach. If we want anyone decent I suspect their asking price will be much higher than what we are currently paying BA.

It’s a funny way of thinking that businesses have. In the corporate world if someone comes in at a lower rate and then outperforms team members on more money than them and they ask for a pay rise, they get told they can’t justify that to their superiors.

Said employees quit because they know they deserve more money and the only way to get it is to leave because bosses can’t see past their current budget.

Of course no one is indispensable, however the effort you have to go through to hire someone new, then pay them more than you were willing to give the ex employee and then deal with training said employee. They can justify the new higher salary for the new employee because the market dictates that amount.

It is the dumbest f**king thing i have seen and being pretty senior in what i do now i have been the employee who has left for more money and been involved trying to explain that to management how dumb that thinking is.

Anyways, my point is businesses are dumb as f**k!!

Sorry. Listened again. Didnt say "A" Game. Said "both teams bought their BEST game". Id suggest all Parra fans watch that Presser. OMG. I have even less faith for the future listening to both BA and Tim following that game.

I agree it didn’t seem the greatest game, but stats wise it indicates some quality, both sides completed in the high 80’s (us 89 them 85) and both sides only missed 27 tackles each (for comparison that’s almost the lowest combined total over all the games from last 2 weeks).

I’d say looking to a presser for any meaningful answers to anything is fraught with danger.

He chose not to publicly roast his players. Big f**ken deal. I’m sure he has reasons. To suggest that this is evidence that he doesn’t think he has some problems on his hands is pretty stupid logic imo.

Both sides are hilariously out of form - it's probably the best they can do right now.

That's because there were barely any attacking raids by either team. It's not hard to complete and defend when the attacking team doesn't try anything. We made 1 line break the whole game. They made 2. It was shit house

So that’s not on the coach just the players???

We have struggled in the 20m zone in all of BA’s time at the club. But yeah Norman and Guth are shit.
Our single biggest flaw is coming out of the red zone, our sets start off on the back foot and this affects the rest of our game. Other teams continually rush up and smash us in this area and we seemingly cannot counter this?
Is this tactics or talent? I’d say a bit of both

Mate, every facet of our game has been a flaw (except getting repeat sets). We’ve struggled in our own 20, in the opposition 20, in defence, our discipline blows and we look totally over structured. f**k part of me wants sandow back, at least he tried things and they paid off at times.

ARTHUR SAFE DESPITE EELS STRUGGLES

BRAD Arthur’s coaching job is safe. Fresh from the win that could save Parramatta from the wooden spoon, we can reveal Arthur will survive beyond this year. But others won’t. The coach has been given the go-ahead to clean out his football department and no one is safe. In other Eels news, a star player is also on the outer. Michael Jennings looks set to pay the price for the Eels’ year from hell, with the former NSW centre being shopped to rival clubs.
