Does Brad Arthur deserve the hype?

I guess we do have different opinions on what constitutes a basket case. I believe we are a basket case due to the examples I mentioned. Just out of curiosity could you identify a club that is or has been a basket case in the past?

Newtown, Cumberland, Sydney University. They were doomed. ;-)

We do have a better squad than last year but are having to get used to playing a new style. Unfortunately we've been playing a structure that suits some players but not others. At least now with Sandow gone we're able to play more direct. We're not stuck trying to use him because he's there.

How long do you honestly think Arthur will persevere with Kelly and have Sandow in Reserve Grade?

He has shown a willingness to blood rookies....if ZDC and/or Matterson perform well I see no reason he won't give one of them a go. Quinlan is also an option.

I'm not saying Sandow won't be back, but I don't think it's necessarily cut and dried. That said, I think as a so called marquee player Sandow should be given a chance to dig us out of this hole before putting pressure on the young kids. I don't know that he's up to it, but he should be made to earn his keep.

If we get beaten by an under-strengthed Souths and Arthur then puts Sandow back in the team in two weeks time and nothing changes in his play, do you think the purpose of dropping was worthwhile?

To push his price down and resign him on less

He'll be useful for a mid season change next year for a hooker

I think it was worth a shot. He has proven in the past that he sometimes benefits from being sat back on his heels a bit, and as a confidence player carving up NSW cup sides can only help. If he comes back just as bad, what do we lose? It's not like he would have miraculously changed in first grade. We had to try something.

The post game interview didn't exactly fill me with joy. If you look at BA closely he doesn't look to be in a good place. His answers were very predictable as well, along with Timmy's. FFS, can they also get a microphone to those who ask the questions? I can't hear shit all what they ask anything of the coach & captain.

I thought he looked fine, alrights gives a straight answer without blaming anyone but his side. Obviously frustrated as he hates losing. If he was losing it, he could have easily ripped into refs yesterday but didn't.

I just think he is starting to feel the pressure, unfortunately. I want him to succeed as a coach, like all of us. I am just saying that I didn't see anything positive from that interview, body language especially.

Where would he go? And secondly, who would be willing to take on his contract for the remainder of the year?

Wherever he was going to go next year anyway. And secondly, any team with a halfback crisis right now. Manly are using a back rower on the left hand side.

I think Sandow would be a long way down the list of preferences for Manly though.
