Does Brad Arthur deserve the hype?

Arthur is a good coach, why do people think a smart player like Foran wants to play for him? He has already done a lot for our team. The problem we have is we have some good players, but some very ordinary ones too. Hopefully the squad will improve over the next 12 months so he can show what he can do with a better than average team.

After how many years we finally have a team that shows grit and determination, we've smashed Manly, been decimated by injury, lost to last year's grand finalists and the Warriors in NZ; and people are calling for the coaches head?

Some of you lot must live miserable lives.

Well in theory we have improved from last year. We have lost our best player and:

- flogged manly at home, only just beat them last year at home
- lost to warriors in NZ 48 to nil last year yet got closer this year over there
- lost to dogs, no real improvement but did have a lot of injuries.

Let's see how we go against Souths.

I like where we're headed under Arthur, but that abysmal defensive display in the first half against the Warriors must be addressed.

Don't forget we have four top 17 players out ( edwards, paulo, semi and beau) along with probably the next back/forward to come into the top 17 (pauli/Vai). Along with watmough/Sandow/moeroa clearly playing injured

Arthur is doing a good job considering the set backs we have had

With DCE going to the GC I have no doubts that Manly upped their offer to Foran to keep him and that amount would have been very close to ours, if not the same as ours. You don't let two of the best young halves in the game walk away without putting in a competitive offer.

Disagree with you mate. Manly offered him buckets of money and have plenty with DCE leaving. No Foran wants to play under Arthur. Arthur is a good coach. I hope people give him the time and support he needs to show just how good.

Not sure if any of you have seen BA present his video reviews (the same reviews that they show to the players ). I have been lucky to see about 3 of these (2 last year and 1 following round 2) and the focus of BA at the moment remains showing the players their individual errors that result in turn over of possession, missed tackles and of big focus seems to be laziness. For example, Hoppa is accountable for the try the dogs scored outside of Robinson (he was half a step too far to the left) and Semi is to blame for his ACL injury (he was 1 step behind where he should have been). This kind of focus and attention to detail is what we need as or playing strength mature.

Wow, poor Semi! Yes he was out of position, but to cop the blame for getting injured!

Gotta love BA.
