There's most definitely a case here. The actions of the Storm have stained these past 5 years of the NRL, and will for a long time to come.

In 100 years, when someone asks, who won the 2007 NRL premiership? Who won the 2009 premiership? there will be a big massive black hole..

To follow on from other discussion, IMO the top-2 teams in 2007 were most definitely Melbourne and Manly. Parra were 3rd and threatened the Storm in the GF Qualifier.

As for 2009, Parramatta were absolutely the in-form team at the time.

I think the disappointing thing for all fans is that what has happened has really effected the meaning of what we've been cheering for the last few years. Just a thought, at the end of last year I was wondering about the luck of the Broncs (warriors fan) who seemed to constantly face storm in the final series and invariably lose. Yes its disappointing for Eels who are in our recent memory, but handing it to Parra just wouldnt do justice to all teams, as much as we might think they deserve it

I don't believe the premierships should be given to Manly and Parra, because tbh getting the 2007 premiership wouldn't give me much enjoyment, and obviously Melbourne cheating changed the whole course of the seasons. But to say Manly were lucky to get where they were is laughable.

stand back for a moment analyse the bigger picture for a moment. the storm rorted the cap by hundreds of thousands each season. if Melbourne werent paying their players overs, certain playing personnel couldve been at other clubs, and the course of those seasons couldve been entirely different.

this is different to an olympic 100m sprint where the next best is entitled to get the prize. there are so many variables in a football season.

Parra did everything asked of it, including beating the top 3 sides. Same with manly in 07. We both made it. Melbourne are being tripped the premierships, not their competition points. We f*cking deserve it.

Right now 2007 and 2009 mean nothing. Recognise who wre the clubs that legitimately passed the hoops that no one else could legitimately.

How and why would Parramatta be given the grand final. I don't know if you are just being a jerk on purpose, but surely you realise that the Storm salary cap cheating didn't just affect that one game, it affected the whole season!

What about the teams that lost to Melbourne in the 07 and 09 prelimary finals (Dragons, Broncos). Why shouldn't they be premiers? They didn't even get the chance to be in the grand finals..

It's fair to say that you lost the grand final to a team that cheated. But in no way did you win.

If they get the win then when someone ask who did parra beat that year to win the comp? answer would be Welllllll they didnt win they got it given to them cause they played cheats.

Anyone who thinks Parramatta and Manly should get the premierships are f**king stupid.

These cheating revelations have such a huge impact on the whole reason rather than just the final game. It's not just who they directly knocked out but also who they indirectly knocked out. You can never be certain that they wouldn't have won the premiership anyway even if they had obeyed the rules and been under the cap. That uncertainty is why it will forever say stripped and not Manly or Parramatta.

ok f*ckwits. This year the Storm will not win any points, but teams have to beat them to get theirs. Guess what - the storm will still field a salary cp smashing team. So no side who played them in the premiership rounds can claim a "what if". So no game from last year has it's result altered - except the GF, which has.

The "what if" argument askes "what if" the Storm were nder the cap. Clearly, results would be altered -notably te 2007 preliminary final, and the 2006 fourth qualifying final. But it's not a "what if" argument. It's simply an argument about a particular result tat has now been scrubbed. The choice simply is this - do we have a result for our GF - or a non event?

A nil result means you deny the season existed.

Parra are reigning premiers. End of story.

Exactly. Why should Parramatta get the premiership? They lost. They cheated, yes, but this was not the only game that they cheated in. They cheated for 5 years. Why reverse just this decision because it suits the eel fans?
