Got it a few days ago.
Very addictive
Started a batting all-rounder career, average a mere 7 and ended up bowling far too much. Bowling, I find (as a quick-med) has various results, my best bowling figures are 4 for 10. Other times I bowled, I'd get tonked and not get a wicket.

Got too frustrated with bowling, started over as a number 3 batsmen. Averaging 30 in T20, 18 in four dayers and 20 in T40 (I think?)

My best game was scoring 70 in a T20 to guide us to victory

Might have to start again but up the difficulty as I'm finding my groove a bit.
Also I've learnt to read when to run and not too, occassionally I'll get run our or run my partner out but when I first started, my team must have hated me for all the run outs - Dóh!

Yeah I've had it for a few days too, enjoying it.

The bowling doesn't seem to difficult, however it seems that the rewards are random, I've bowled some really good deliveries and gotten smashed, then taken wickets on some bad balls.

I've created a number 3 batsmen also, not doing that well but I did hit a 50 last night in my T20 game. I find if I just go the tonk I do better than trying to work it for singles. I find if I try and drive it through the covers too often I get caught behind.

So how does everyone approach batting? Surely it's too hard to wait until the ball is bowled to work out if it's short/full and then use foot placement accordingly? I just premeditate my shot which generally tends to be a front foot shot, I figure if I play a front foot shot and it's short I'll get hit but at least I wont get out, I'm scared to premeditate a back foot shot in case they bowl a yorker and then I'm screwed.

I agree with the annoyance of being at the non strikers end and having to wait until the ball clears the field before running, surely they could have a little player map in the corner or something

Re running difficulties, go to options and change the fielding view. I think I changed it to "Fielding 1" or something like that. The default view is terrible, this one is better.

I read in a few guides that you pretty much just play front foot all the time until your batter (and you) get better.

Thanks for that, I'll change the camera angle.

So at what point then do you start playing off the back foot? I imagine it doesn't matter how good your batsmen is you still have the same issue with no being able to pick it until late.

Also, what's everyone's approach to spinners? I tried to come down the crease to mixed results

Wish you could deny playing in England...
I have no interest in trying to "prove myself again" and it seems harder and boring..
I guess it's part of the progression though yeah?

And yeah, front foot is safer, but if that thing is bright red, slog it!

No run outs since this!
Great advise

Just scored my highest P40 score, my first century, a massive 170.

Other than that, I havn't been able to hit 80

I'm very close to getting into the Aussie T20 league and IPL.
Can't wait until I hit the international scene though, can only imagine the thrill of winning a game/having a good showing. Knowing my luck, I'll reach the team to get out for 7

Cheers no worries. I don't even know why they bother with that default running view, it's impossible. The other view even makes running a bit enjoyable, which is good.

170, that's impressive. Think my highest is about 70 odd.

I started the career as a 21 year old so hopefully that gets me to the Aussie teams a bit quicker.

Kind of wish I started as a #4 batter (I'm #3 now) so I could come in a bit later in one dayers/T20s and bat out the innings.

I also wish this game came out (on ps4) at the start of cricket season. Need to put a lot of time into this career mode, and I'm in league/soccer mode at the moment.

So surprised the game is decent, I must have bought 3 or 4 NRL games from them, all terrible and didn't play them more than once. There must be a massive market worldwide for a cricket game, hopefully they keep making them, they've got a good base to go from now.

170, geez I can only dream of getting that score, well done mate!

I need some advice with batting, how often do you guys go the tonk (L2 - aggressive shot)?

My innings generally go one of two ways, I either try and be aggressive and usually hit a few boundaries before inexplicably hitting one straight up in the air and getting caught by the fielder, or I try and be really patient and work singles into gaps before I eventually get caught behind or LBW. Struggling to find the right balance at the moment.

If they've left the covers open or mid on or mid off back I find scoring singles pretty easy, but if they have those gaps covered then it becomes quite tough to score

I also wonder how much of it has to do with my 16 year old batsmen and his poor batting ratings

I know it sounds simple, but check the field and go the tonk near the whole time. If mid on and mid off are up, then tonk down the ground every ball you can. If fine leg and square leg are up, then tonk it off your pads the whole time.

I set myself up as an opener. Working a treat.

Just played an ODI. Chasing 159 runs to win, i scored 155* lol.

But it was only against Sri Lanka

When you start playing for Australia, do you keep playing Sheffield shield/domestic one dayers? or do they overlap so you only play for Aus?

No, Some do overlap but you'll end up playing for NSW, English County Team and Aus in all forms of the game.

That has burnt me out and I haven't played for a while.

Its getting really frustrating playing as Qld/Heat. I don't know if the rest of my team sucks or what but I've barely won a game.

Yeah the scheduling gets quite crazy. I played two ODI's against Sri Lanka (in a 5 ODI series) then a County game, a P40 game, then another county game and then the third ODI v Sri Lanka.

Haha, I thought I'd been dropped the first time that happened. Gave up the game for a week then came back and found out I hadn't been dropped, it was just a game thing :(
