yesss Rookie mode! All I want to do is slog the shit out of the ball for days haha.

I don't like that they removed fielders knocking off bails even when the runner is clearly safe, that always made me laugh.

Bowling is so epic on this game when the conditions suit, greenish wicket, cool conditions,

Played an international t20 match against England last night, tried to slog every ball and got rolled for just over 100.

Opened the bowling with the 2 Mitch's and had consistent 155km inswingers and outswingers going like magic. Johnson to Cook, outswinger fractionally short of a length, Cook drives outside the line to allow for the swing, gets an inside edge wrong footing Haddin who dives back to snatch a one handed speccy, f**king great catch.

You didn't get that in EA or Codemasters cricket games.

What would you guys rate this game?

Ive always enjoyed cricket but sadly after Shane Warne cricket I could never play the games, mostly due to how shit they were.

I would rate this game a solid 6/10 straight out of the box, but with these patches and bug fixes, plus Big Ant's blatant willingness to listen to the punters, it will easily shoot up to an 8.5 to 9 out of 10 (based on other cricket games of course).

You will not find a more fulfilling cricket game, especially when bowling as I posted above.

Finally got this game. I'm enjoying but boy do I suck. I'm king of the ducks at the moment, a high score of 25 and second top of 14 then it's ducks, 1's and 2s.

Trying to be patient but it's a very unforgiving game. I''m struggling to coordinate which foot to play off and also the direction. I've started just playing off the front foot as it makes it easier but have a lot of bouncers going over my head.

Hopefully after the patch this week career batting will be a little easier.

I keep getting 40's all the way up to 80's only to always get caught behind, and I do mean always.

Yeah career batting is a pain. I've got a few 40's and a 50 in a domestic one dayer but other than that it's same as you guys 1's and 2's.

So I finally got my controller from my mum's place to play this on the PC.

Played for probably 4 or 5 hours so far, and first impressions are great.

I tried and tried to find tutorial mode and gave up after about 15 minutes so just went into the nets and looked at the controls menu.

Waited until I could get a streak of 10 hits on pace and spin each and then 10 blocks on both. Thought I would try out practice on a field and it dumped me in a tutorial, doh!

It gave me a really good chance to practice bowling, which wasn't too bad.

I played that for a while and thought I should start a career.

Made a RH Bowling all rounder batting at 7. First game was against WA, with Marcus North on about 60 odd and WA in control. I get thrown the ball and get him out 4th ball with a pearler of a slow yorker. Just about pissed myself with joy.

Ended up with 3/15 in the first innings and fast forward to batting. Out for 2 LBW with NSW trailing at the end of our innings. WA were again on the front foot in the second innings at 0 for around 50 when I get called up to bowl.

Ended up cleaning up the whole team getting 8/12 with NSW behind by about 100. We ended up winning the game and I didn't get another bat but I got man of the match.

Then I was late to work.

I got most wickets from either bowling slow yorkers 1st ball of the over, or fast in swingers at a good length then a slow yorker to finish off the over. Most wickets have been bowlings, with one LBW and one catch when they tried to slog me haha.

Anyone still playing this?

I gave up on bowling and started a batsman career batting at no 4 for NSW.

Got 260 odd in a 4 day game last night and followed up with a 148 in a matador cup match. Apparently close to a T20 call up for Australia but meh, rather play tests.

I'll buy it for the Xbone, mainly to play with mates.

Got made captain of the One Day NSW squad with an average of 36ish. My average is 48 in Sheild cricket, make me capt of that squad!

Bought this yesterday after discovering this thread. I reckon the game is awesome. Missus had fun making my 16 year old character look like me and have wrinkles. Funny if they age in the game (do they??) and when he is 27 he looks 50...

But lemme get this straight, you actually can't play as anyone else but your character???
Unless simulating (does everyone simulate???) you have to "watch" the game?

This game is simply broken, how are you suppose to time the shots properly when you literally have to hit the ball before you even react to what line and length is being bowled to you? Absolutely impossible. And even when I have timed the shot perfectly my batsmen will still miss hit the ball to the slips or a fielder.

Would be 100x if they gave you a fraction more of a second to time the ball because at the second I am premeditating all my shots which is obviously not useful. Nearly already had it with this game after a day.

The captaincy AI is frustrating. I created an all rounder and while I'm still getting used to batting (average about 18 after 2 games), bowling is easier to master....but so far I have figures of 1/26(10), 3/21(10), 3/29(10) and 2/12(8) in shield cricket. I can't get a fking bowl!

Batting is a little annoying, I manage to get myself out just as I start to feel ok. Which is pretty realistic, in all fairness

Recently bought this game and love it. For me bowling was hard to master I created a batsman and suddenly I'm asked to bowl overs in all formats of my career. YouTube solved that though.

Also a question on the DRS, is there a way to select it on any dismissal or is it up to the computer when they offer you the option to challenge?

Was about to write something like this today...
I was batting with the camera BATSMEN FAR as that's wat happened in the practice, and couldn't see the marker so I swapped to BOWLER FAR and realised I wasn't seeing it because it doesn't exist!!!!
You get about .0005 of a second to pick offence or defence, which foot and which shot...
And I'm on the 2nd easiest difficulty...

I started on whatever the default is (middle difficulty I think?) and then realised it was actually a realistically difficult cricket game so I went back and started on the easiest, and batting isn't too bad. You do get a colour indicator of length, and the line is easy enough to pick up....so from there it's just being quick enough to select front or back foot and the direction. Once you get the hang of it it's not too bad, but it's frustrating as hell learning it
