The horror

this is almost as bad as the bulldogs attempts to ruin Jana pittman's build up to the olympic games by accidently kicking a ball onto the training track.

Slow news day. Another who gives a f*ck.
The hadicapped - but they don't exist do they? It happens I am one them. I use crutches to walk distances, can't drive the car and have a mobility cart - if I go into the city area and the driver tries to find a space it is near on possible. If any of you think this is funny come down here and use my shattered legs to walk with. I can walk short distances but that is it. wiyhout home care, my cart and sons, I would be stuck at home.

Why should the handicaped suffer through the ignorance of others

Reminds me of the Seinfield episode where George parks in a disabled park causing a disabled woman to crash while finding somewhere else to park. Jerry and co cant return to their car because an angry mob is waiting for them and end up totalling the car. Funny as f**k!

Maybe we can start an angry mob and demolish Woolies car! Who's with me?

*edit* just saw your post sharko. First thing i thought of as well.

its an obvious attempt to deflect attention away from the incident of the AFL player pissing in public

whenever an AFL player gets in strife it seems the media look for any kind of league inciident to try and divert peoples attention away from it.

this is pathetic journalism imo

Given the fact that News Ltd owns both the Daily Telegraph ( who wrote this story ) and the NRL, what possible reason would they want to try and divert peoples attention away from the AFL off field problems and merely focus on the NRLs?

Why would there possibly be any reason at all for News Ltd to bring down the game they themselves own?

And why would they want to protect the AFL which they don't own?

Reading my Daily Tele, there was an article on Favola messing up from the AFL which was just as large if not larger newspaper space wise than the story on the Dragons?

By your theory and given NEWS LTD owns both the Daily Tele and the NRL, it would be like a tobacco store owner who starts a campaign about the dangers of smoking

This is an exact example of someone who has nfi. To compare it to jaywalking is ridiculous. I hope you never suffer a fate that causes you to lose your mobility.

Not the point I was making, you can see countless examples of this right across Sydney at any Railway station, or shopping centre car park that goes through without the media so much as raising a finger. However as soon as a league player is involved suddnely becomes news worthy..FMD

it's simple

the AFL does deals with media. it was revealed in court when channel 7 were trying to sue every man and his dog

half own

i wouldn't trust News for a second. there has to be a reason for the blatant bias in reporting

who knows exctly what it is though, but i'd wager if an AFL player had done the same as Woolford nobody would even know about it

this is getting bigger headlines than this did http://www.thedaily.com.au/news/2008/mar/12/second-drink-drive-arrest-young-lion/

tell me which incident is the worst

Pathetic that a bloke who would be in the top 5% of fittest people in the nation using a parking spot that their are far too few of in the first place. Obviously the people making light of the situation don't have a clue how difficult it is for people with mobility imparments to get around. He deserves to be publicly shamed.

Oh fugg off - that's not what people are getting at - it goes without saying this is offensive to handicapped people - the fact the media believe it's reportable in this instance is what is being alluded to. I have the greatest sympathy for them but in the context of footy players being bashed from pillar to post for not acting 100% saintly, and crucifying them every time they make the slightest mistake. We, as a rugby league community, are sick of it - and this thread serves as evidence to that.

I think the point of it all is the hypocrisy that lies beneath the surface of all of this. Some of these same blokes use the media to be seen doing so much for charity ( and many times for disabled people ) to improve the image of themselves, their team and the game, whilst at the same time parking in a disabled carpark when the media aren't around

The situation drips with the ultimate irony and hypocrisy - but hey, its all entertaining really isn't it
