Its not my point. The clubs send media releases SEEKING the charity work.

the charity work is done. if the media don't report it's still done anyway

Besides that, the above press release did get news attention.

link?

But when some boofhead like Woolfoord and Ryles does an act of complete hypocrisy, shouldn't they be embarrased publically given they do charity for the same people whos spot they just decided to park in?

he's been fined

if the media want to make a headline out of it they should do it both ways

point me to the last headline involving Woolford doing charity work

I've figured that out now  Oh you took it down? You told me to post the link - well there wasn't a link, it was a press release sent by email. At least you acknowledged it existed.

I'm not overly computer savvy at the link thing, which was why I was happy to send you the forwarded copies of my examples.

emails are private just like PM's

people can't prove copy and pasted emails are legit either.

no

they just need a source

this time you provided one

and did either get big headlines like Woolford did?

nope

Brad Fittler was all over the paper and TV the other day doing that PCYC luncheon the day of his game mate.

They get plenty of publicity, I'm not gonna sit here all day searching for sources - everyone here has seen/read about it.

As for Woolford and Ryles, weren't they apart of the Charity Shield ;-)

funny there's nothing online if they get plenty of publicity

it only gets a mention here http://news.smh.com.au/mason-tupou-fined-for-public-urination/20080219-1t1u.html

lol

i can't even recall the media actually reporting on the charity side. it was only reports on the match itself

its an obvious attempt to deflect attention away from the incident of the AFL player pissing in public

whenever an AFL player gets in strife it seems the media look for any kind of league inciident to try and divert peoples attention away from it.

this is pathetic journalism imo

To be perfectly honest I'd rate parking in a handicapped space as worse than pissing in public. I've never parked in a handicapped space, but I've watered council shrubbery on plenty of occasions.

Oh fugg off - that's not what people are getting at - it goes without saying this is offensive to handicapped people - the fact the media believe it's reportable in this instance is what is being alluded to. I have the greatest sympathy for them but in the context of footy players being bashed from pillar to post for not acting 100% saintly, and crucifying them every time they make the slightest mistake. We, as a rugby league community, are sick of it - and this thread serves as evidence to that.
are you stupid their actions are against the law and however much you sugar coat it - it stll deprived a handicapped person a park so do what you suggested is "because they are football players they shouldn't get publicity. If I went and kicked the sh*t out of their car it wouldn't gain the same publicity?" I agree that it is over the odds, but so are court reports to highlight dickheads. I wouldn't fine them, but get them into the handicapped homes to do time and that goes for all offenders.

Your sound like builders who put lovely steps into a new building but no wheel chair access, no bloody idea.
If they hadn't parked there they wouldn't be in the paper

Have to lob a hand grenade in here.

Who is to say anyone was deprived at that particular parking spot ? From the original news report starting this thread, we dont know of anyone that attempted to use the car space and couldnt, so its a bit premature to be citing "someone was deprived"

Considering they were visiting a hospital expo I'd say it's more than likely.

Regardless, that's not the point.

No, get it right, they were at a hospitality expo. Poker machine etc

And it is the point since someone in the previous post suggested someone was deprived of a handicapped spot.
