Whats more interesting for me is who is/are the player/s we would let go to accomodate Hayne.

The club is currently on a membership drive and obviously wanting current and new members to sign up for the 2019 season.

So, from a marketing perspective, you would promote the players the general public would be most excited to see.

Dufty features in just about every video. To be honest he's a marketing magnet for kids.
However, there are 2 from the backline that have not been seen.

I will let you investigate that for yourselves.

That to me is the clue to who is out of favour or likely to be used as pawns for any deal involving Hayne.
C'mon Slayer nothing wrong in letting us know who the club don't think are photogenic.

Im sorry but someone has to expose Samy, he quite clearly said a few weeks back that Hayne will NOT be coming and now that there are rumours he is coming he's back tracking and saying Hayne might be coming??? he never has any information to back up his 'Rumours', and if he did have information then why wouldn't he just say who is coming/who is being targeted??? so fishy.

No, I'm sorry but I'm calling you out.

Samy has been positively contributing to this forum for years and for you to just lob up with your measley 4 post track record and slur him is way off the mark.

Either that or you're a regular poster who has created a new account to post this slur, which, in this case, is just plain gutless...

Agree to a certain extent but for me the gap between ISP and NRL is hugh.It is not like the old days of a Sydney based 1 st & Reserve grade comp where a guy killing it in reserves did really well straight away when promoted to firsts.

Excellent point Dennis , there is indeed a huge difference between the ISP and the old reserve grade .

Sorry mate... If only all of the posts here were "validated" and "stamped" then we would all be happy.

Its a fricken forum where people post what they know / hear and sometimes even just assume. Nothing fishy about it at all. In fact, its posts like yours buddy that inhibit people posting whatever they deem to be credible.

It would be pretty boring here without innuendo, opinion, rumours etc..

It is the certainty that people express that cheeses people off I think TS.

I don’t want the Hayne Plane anywhere near our club. We need to spend the money on our juniors or try and recruit some younger players.
I still believe that Aitken and Lafai will be our starting centers next season. I would love to see Lomax and Lafai as the starting centers.
We are 2 years away from any junior other than Lomax ready for 1st grade. Compare Hayne's contribution in a Eels or Titans team with no chance of success, to a winning Blues squad & you will see what Hayne can add in a title contender team.
For me, I would have Hayne for 2yrs rather than put up with Lafai or Aitken & anyone who would prefer the latter have been watching a different game, but that's what opinions are for. LOL

It is a very simple situation for Millward to solve:
Extend Dufty until the end of 2020
Sign Hayne until the end of 2020
Extend Mann until till the end of 2020

If this can all happen, let Dufty, Aitken and Lafai know first grade selection will be determined on fitness and form shown in off-season training and trials. Aitken and Lafai will be in their final year of their current contract so, if they want out, release them while they can find a club.

Could be mate, I dunno. My point is that if a deal goes sour, or a rumour / suggestion proven wrong, then so be it. To be "called out ".. is just wrong.

BTW, we dont even know the result yet .. lol
Yeah I don't have a problem with posters who share rumours, but I don't have a problem with people calling out rumours that become unsubstantiated either (not that I would do that). If the rumour has come from someone who has a proven track record, then I get really annoyed for as you say, things can change. Anyone on here who proclaims with certainty that something will happen/will not happen, I guess has to be prepared to cop it if it doesn't come about.

If we get Hayne I would play him centre. I would even release Lafai, Aitken and Mann if there were other clubs interested in them. That would then free up some money to sign another good outside back up, such as Rapana or Leilua (if they could get a release). I was thinking of something like

1 Dufty
2 Pearson/Ravalawa/Pereira
3 Leilua
4 Lomax
5 Hayne
6 Widdop
7 Hunt

or

1 Dufty
2 Pearson/Ravalawa/Pereira
3 Lomax
4 Hayne
5 Rapana
6 Widdop
7 Hunt.

Did you watch the second two games of last year’s series? Hayne was an anchor around the team’s testicles.

Lol. And I thought our coach was poor.. Rapana most likely to see out the next season with a shoulder reconstruction (not that we had him in the first place). Hayne still not confirmed. Worse than a punter on the Melbourne Cup when it comes to wingers or winners Frank LOL

Following on from my last post. I was just thinking if we could manage to offload Lafai, Aitken and Mann, how much salary cap space that would create. I estimated

Lafai 400K
Aitken 300K
Mann 250K

That adds up to 950K. I reckon we would be in with a chance of getting either Rapana or Leilua for 550K. That would leave 400K. With that we could even have a go at signing Robert Jennings from Souths. Now imagine

1 Dufty
2 Jennings
3 Hayne
4 Lomax
5 Rapana
6 Widdop
7 Hunt

or

1 Dufty
2 Jennings
3 Lomax
4 Leilua
5 Hayne
6 Widdop
7 Hunt

Either of those backlines would look real good to me.

The Roosters are ruthless in refreshing thier roster, replacing underwhelming players with in form players. Unlike the Dragons in the Roosters recruiting thier Loyalties take a back seat - they are first and foremost results driven.

If only a few of above mentioned or the like (feasible) changes could occur our backline goes very quickly from bog average to super impressive

600k for a winger, no way the Club would entertain that idea. None of our outside backs would be on 600k. That sort of coin is reserved for spine positions. Dufty needs to improve before getting another shot at first grade fullback Let's not get carried away, Hayne will be the only first grade back signed for 2019:

1. Hayne
2. Pearson
3. Lomax
4. Mann
5. Pereira/Ravalawa

The best backline we can hope for in 2019. Speed and good defence but most important solid and creative at the back.

Your last comment doesn't make sense, typical of you. Go back to Penrith Panthers Girl.

As for Hayne. I expect him to be here next year. Rapana is one of the best wingers in the comp and would be a great addition to our side. We were trying to get him from Canberra before the June 30 deadline this year, so we may be still trying to get him. My point was, that if we offloaded Aitken, Lafai and Mann, we could sign Jennings and another quality centre or winger. I understand, comprehension isn't your strong point.

BTW I backed the winner of the Melbourne Cup and had a great day. lol I have actually backed 7 of the last 10 Melbourne Cup winners. lol

Really Priscilla, you are a complete waste of time. Your comments are never even worth reading.

I think Dufty adds a lot more than Mann to our backline.

We did offer Dugan 700K a year to play centre.

I was thinking 500K for Hayne, 600K at the max. Even if we were playing him wing, if there was an injury to a centre or fullback, he could then cover that. I will also add that Hayne has always performed when playing wing. He played some outstanding games on the wing for NSW. I would only play him wing if we signed another good centre, such as Leilua.

How much do you think we should have offered Oates to play wing?

I remember seeing some of my Parra mates spewing on Hayne and that was before he even left to play Gridiron. Hayne can be rocks and diamonds too. He hasn't exactly set the world on fire since coming back from his NFL escapade.

2 questions?

1. Rapana has dislocated his shoulder in last weeks test and could be out for up to 6 months. Do you still want to sign him now, or try again before the June 30 deadline for completing your top 30?

2. If we were to sell off Lafai, Aitken and Mann, all of whom have contracts for next year, would you think a suitor would ask us to contribute a great portion of their salary, and especially with regards to Lafai and Aitken who are contracted for another 2 years?

I think the more realistic figure here would be a maximum 400k in the bank and that's probably not enough to secure the likes of J Leilua and you have to consider that Rapana will be 30 next year and I wouldn't be forking out that sort of money for a winger at that age.

Jennings is an interesting one and I would have a serious crack at him also.

We can say if Hayne signs on, then our squad would total 29, assuming no-one leaves, however, if say Mann is the trade off, then Jennings maybe worth a crack and still leaves us with a spot to play with next year before June 30.
