It's all very silly really. If we have 600k left in the cap, sign him. If we don't then keep looking. Hayne would be ideal because he is very versatile; can cover 1 tp 6. He is a good defender, is good in attack and can put players through a hole.

Why do you assume it will take 2 years? Why can't he improve skills over an off season? Why can't these skills be worked on in first grade? It's really only tweaking that needs to be done, not changing the fundamentals of his game, and as long as his overall input is not detrimental to the first grade team, why must he learn in ISP?

Dufty will learn nothing of the sort in reserve grade. He needs NRL defence experience

I am getting on Canterbury for the spoon next year too. I will also have to cover The Gold Coast.

Sign him, don't sign him. Whatever the case this is all a bit ridiculous and for mine doesn't seem worth the hassle. A great player albeit past his best. I think he has something to offer whichever club he goes to - and we are lacking out the back more than others - but there's obviously a lot of indecisiveness on his behalf.

I keep saying it, but whatever happened to a player really dying to put on a red v jersey? Maybe even willing to give up a few bucks. Call me old fashion but Flo just walked away and took the last little bit of loyalty left in the game with him. By the same token, if we go into 2019 with no quality addition other than Sims and a couple of may-be first grade outside backs, I think we can wave the season good bye before it starts. Not to mention Paul 'no plans' McGregor.

I agree with you. So the question is, during Dufty's long career as a junior in the lower grades, why wasn't he given the coaching necessary to address the problems he has in defence and taking the high ball? Why was this allowed to just raise it's ugly head in his first year in first grade?

Unfortunately coaching has a bit to do with it, but dont forget the difference between the lower grades and NRL is growing and that is where your weaknessess are highlighted. It is a blight on the sport to a point where it is 1st grade anywhere on the planet or try something else

I see your point however, many of the ISP players are just a big and just as fast as first graders, making it a very similar task using a similar skill-set to tackle them. Also, I'd say the many of the ISP players can kick just as well as those in first grade - ball going just as high and moving in the air ……….

I'm starting to think he's holding out for a Parra miracle and using us as a play thing.

All flights from Parramatta now cancelled.
