When l first heard about the possibility of Hayne coming, my first thoughts were ........ No thanks BUT, if you consider that he does tackle well, he can make a a decent break, he can win a game and if he's with a decent team like ours, he has something to play for and can make that extra effort for a worthwhile purpose, like playing in the finals.

A lot of maybe's but when all said and does, if he comes to us, he has a lot to play for.
At the moment ................. he doesn't.
So, if he stays, we know its all been about the money.
If he comes to us, its about wanting more.

He could add a lot to our backline.
We could do a lot worse.
We could stay the same as we are right now.

It would be a big move for all concerned.

OKB, I too have thought about this and would like us to sign Hayne for a year.
We desperately need a centre that can break a game. With Lomax and Hayne we look much more dangerous than lafai and aitken.
I hope we get him.

No guns there imo.
Moses is a spoilt brat who can't tackle as well as abusing his teammates.
Norman has plenty of ability but also comes with baggage.
Gutherson is an ordinary player who tries really hard but with little speed.Looks like a headless chook at times.
French is quick, end of story.
Anyone who can embarrass regularly I could take. Albeit not in the 1st game last year but nearly every other game Franch, Gutherson & Norman have carved the Dragons defence up. Moses...nah but a good back up. Throw Hayne into that mix

Well the eels have a lot of dominoes to fall To get a half decent squad and my understanding is that he wants to jump the queue and expects the eels to work around him instead of lining up the ducks.

He’s talked about him taking them to a grand final and all that propaganda.

But seen like this, it’s kind of selfish cause he’s placing other players in a hole they might not be able to climb out of.

But to be fair he has some claims to feel a bit entitled given his previous sacrifices for the eels.

He’s a carnival in his own right but if he were to knuckle down, jeez he’s frigging willing.

$500k is pretty sensible and he’s at least semi-marquee.

Geez he’d play with a grudge too I think. A bit of sting.

The other eels up for sale, who knows.

I am warming to the proposal. He might have got last pass or run right than cruelled your 2018 season. I think he would have actually. Not cleanly, but there nonetheless. All hypothesis!!

Funk & Wagnalls is not coming here either. No one is coming here

They ARE coming so just calm down and enjoy the ride. We may get two backs and a prop. I'm sure Johnston and Coyne are in Millward's ear with a few words of common sense.

Is anyone paying attention? He's on trial next year for sexual assault in the US. That's his whole story for the next 12 to 18 months. It will be the circus that attaches itself to whichever club he plays for. It will be every back page and every press conference. We haven't even got to the bit where the woman pressing charges details her allegations. He will not be a footballer next year. He will be a defendant. In the court of public opinion and actual court. Parramatta know this and will bend over backwards between now and next February to get rid of him, to anyone and pay around $200K of his salary to make it happen. Us and the Gold Coast are the only joker outfits who would take him and he's already been there.

And we don't. Need. A. Fullback.
Nope... falling on death ears..

Hayne's form this year on the wing was better than any of our wingers, and his form at centre was better than any of our centres. Based on that, I'd have him.

The issue for me is that when we secure signings we tend to like to do so quietly. With the cat out of the bag I suspect this deal is off.

French is quick, end of story.

The list I saw was Corey Norman, Mitchell Moses, Michael Jennings, Bevan French and Brad Takairangi.

French is a much better player and fullback than Dufty. Neither of the halves would want to commit to playing fullback, despite spending some time there when coming through.

They wouldn’t move Gutherson. Gutherson would be a bigger get for us than Hayne. He could settle at fullback with us and be here for 5 years plus. Unlikely to happen but would be fantastic. He’s a couple of players and some success away from being a rep player.
