Forget Dufty the lightweight - if Hayne comes straight to fullback where he can get involved and at last a fullback that can return the ball and tackle!!

The spine would be the best since 2011!!

1. Hayne
2. Perera
3. Lomax
4. Lafai
5. ???

6. Widdop
7. Hunt

9. McInnes

When l first heard about the possibility of Hayne coming, my first thoughts were ........ No thanks BUT, if you consider that he does tackle well, he can make a a decent break, he can win a game and if he's with a decent team like ours, he has something to play for and can make that extra effort for a worthwhile purpose, like playing in the finals.

A lot of maybe's but when all said and does, if he comes to us, he has a lot to play for.
At the moment ................. he doesn't.
So, if he stays, we know its all been about the money.
If he comes to us, its about wanting more.

He could add a lot to our backline.
We could do a lot worse.
We could stay the same as we are right now.

It would be a big move for all concerned.
Well said OKB. You are echoing my thoughts to a T.

What is happening here is Hayne's manager has decided the best way to get Parramatta off there arse and get him a contract is to shop him around . The Dragons bite and make him a firm offer then Parramatta are forced into action .

If Parra wanted to keep Hayne, don't you think they would have made him an offer by now?

It's a good point . But from what I have been told they are trying to shop a few players to get under the cap before they can keep Hayne which explains the delay . But if the Dragons have indeed made a offer I believe it will force Parramatta's hand . Time will tell I guess .

I honestly don't understand why Lafai is a walk up certainty every year.
Aitkin is not FG standard and should not even be mentioned.
Our backline is still crap and Hayne is not the answer.
We need a total revamp including FB.

1 year deal and for under 500k, smart acquisition by the club if it is pulled off.

Our for forwards have leaders

Our halves have leaders

Our backline lacks a leader

Our backs have no confidence in each other, Hayne oozes confidence even when below form. He would do a great service to our team

Let's not underestimate Mary's role in us not attracting quality players- he's hopeless at developing young players( no doubt Mary's fingerprints are all over Mann telling his manager to test the market and wanting to leave-he could have been an established centre by now if he'd been given a fair go). So that leaves older players. They, (like Hayne) will be motivated by money but also by the prospect of a team competing for a premiership and being there when the whips are cracking. History suggests Mary hasn't been and will not be able to provide that opportunity.

I must admit I do thing we are a bit thin out-wide for next season especially with the loss of McDonald, I don't think Hayne is the answer nor do I think it will happen however if the choices are Hayne or no-one I will take Hayne if he can stay fit and work on his humility he could be a good signing.

1. Dufty
2. Hayne
3. Aitken
4. Lafai
5. Lomax
6. Widdop (c)
7. Hunt

There’s a whole thread devoted to Mary hate. Can’t you Mary hate addicts get your fix there?!
Keep off the streets and use the injecting rooms as provided? We don’t want the kids being needled.

The Hayne Plane crashed and burnt a while ago. He is toxic for any team. He only started to play better towards the end of the season.

There is no way that Millward would sign two young wingers, keep Mann and then sigh Hayne as a winger. No, you can be sure that he has been told to find a first grade fullback and if Hayne is signed, he will play fullback.

Just imagine Hayne at 5 and Aitken at 3, what a joke! I'd say the most likely backline will be:

1. Hayne
2. Mann - may move to left centre if Lafai does not shape up
3. Lomax - no contest, he will replace Aitken
4. Lafai - if he does not shape up, Mann at left centre
5. TBA - could be one of the new wingers

Just reported on 2sm we have tabled a $500K for 1 year offer to hayne. However they reported that Parra Still wants to retain him.

At least we have tabled a good first offer. I'd say he really wants 700k and the actual deal will be at fullback money 600k for one year with SGI having an option for another year at 700k.
