Exactly....brownosingI think it's more just a throw away line to put himself in the frame but if he were to make it to the coach's seat we can expect his rhetoric to change then.
He is clearly well versed at telling prospective employers what they want to hear/getting the job and then tanking!
So can webb tell him to drop Euan and NormieReading between the lines of Young's coach preview, I think he already knows he's not a contender for the job. As he stated, Webb told him what he needs to do over the next 4 weeks, and imo, that means coach the team until the end of the season, that's it. I doubt a CEO would be telling a prospective applicant what he needs to do over a fairly long period of time, particularly when we need to appoint someone now so as to start recruitment and retention processes.
With the hype around each of the remaining 2 media preferred applicants (Griffin and Furner), it wouldn't surprise to see a left field announcement.
It appears Griffin is a Trump supporter so he can go and get stuffed.
A big no from me!

if that’s a criteria then in reality u wouldn’t know if Furner Young Wane or any others actually think the same or different Including. BEllamy and Robbo
so not any point worrying about it IMO
everyone is entitled to their political and religious diversity
people are happy to have JDB back and people with other various misdemeanours
are we going to find out if they are catholic, atheist or not as a criteria ?
I don’t care just as long as they fix up the playing roster , play good footy and get results

When we’re selecting a coach who gives a flying f**k what or who they’ve liked on Social Media unless it’s illegal or they’re arrested/charged.
What were Mary’s thoughts on social issues? Who cares.
I’d take Trump or Pauline Hanson as coach if they had the ability to coach us out of the embarrassment we’re now in.
I don’t have to agree with their politics, religion or whether they’re cat or dog people.
Some of the comments I’ve seen re Griffin and his social media are ridiculous.
If Griffen is a Trump supporter then t is a big YES from me
Agree, you just f**ked it for me regardless of Politics, Religion etc.I hear he thinks pineapple belongs on pizza too, so not a good fit for mine!

Huh?There was some pretty out of the mainstream stuff on that account. I think it is fair to assume most people don’t think like that. There’s also only one of that lot who set up a public account to indulge in all that nonsense.
Please explain? There was some pretty out of the mainstream stuff on that account. I think it is fair to assume most people don’t think like that. There’s also only one of that lot who set up a public account to indulge in all that nonsense.
Which part?Please explain?
Huh?Which part?
The fact that it ain’t mainstream? I reckon the tweets with the lies and made up stats about blm supporters killing black people, and the range of covid conspiracies would class as not mainstream to put it mildly.

I think the salient point about this is not whether or not you or I agree with that sort of stuff, or if it affects his ability to coach well, but what sponsors would want to be aligned with them as this is a business and he would be represnting the club...
If he was a man of conviction, he wouldn't have closed his accounts at the time his views were highlighted and applied for a job. .
Don't want to turn this into a politics thread, but when one engages on social media, its there for all to see , even if you deflect blame.
