I think the salient point about this is not whether or not you or I agree with that sort of stuff, or if it affects his ability to coach well, but what sponsors would want to be aligned with them as this is a business and he would be represnting the club...

Luckily the coach has nothing to do wirh securing sponsors I guess.

Clearly Flanno is not helping ATM
He’s a premiership winner coach for FS

good suggestion Gus

DY total joke of a coach and part of problem not part solution

do they just drink beers at training

they were a rabble
Very poor in defence and too many mistakes. The players and coach just do not have what it takes to win.

Regardless of how you feel about Trump or BLM. The BoD and CEO would do well to steer clear of Hook right now.

Everyone is entitled to their opinions, I agree. But the Club just issued a statement regarding the racism of the club which led to Nathan Blacklock falling out of love with the Dragons and going to RU.
If they appoint someone who is even remotely aligned with anti BLM posts etc, it would be a shocking look for the club.. One which I would personally be ashamed to be a part of.

The BLM movement is one issue and an NRL player being mistreated on racial grounds is a seperate issue again.

Are you suggest Hook is a racist without knowing the fella from a bar of soap?

It's a long bow to draw.

Everyone needs to take a deep breath and realise politics and Rugby League are not the same thing.

Yeah as soon as I seen that initial Blacklock article I thought that. It does make me wonder though about the timing of the article. The Sydney Morning Herald seem to be pushing Furner and other outlets are pushing Griffin. I just hope Wane is still a chance. I don’t want the media deciding our next coach.

Yeah, it is a little coincidental.. I'm really hoping that the fact Wane has gone under the radar plays into his hand.

A successful outsider is what I am interested in. And he ticks those boxes. If he can get some good assistants (Matt Head to keep the dragons happy) I think he could be really good

Well, after consecutive losses to the Titans & Cowboys I think we can draw a line through Dean Young as head coach. Unfortunately just more of the same under Young. Also what’s with Billy Brittian coming off the bench? Surely Tristan Sailor or Jayden Sullivan would have been more useful Brittian offers absolutely nothing.

2020 can’t end quickly enough so I hope Deano takes the lead from Des Hasler & uses the next few weeks to blood some youngsters. Let’s try & salvage something from this disaster.

Eddie Blacker has been in the extended squad for weeks surely he deserves to make his debut. Bench or axe Norman & give Sailor or Sullivan a chance. Sullivan is obviously the future, let’s see what he can do!

what a frustrating year. Norman’s long range field goal attempt which gave away the 7 tackle set which cost us the game. Norman’s 3 line breaks & 3 bombed try’s. Or yet another uncontested bomb right after halftime which lead to a try. How many times have we seen that this year! I hope Cody Ramsey has a huge offseason & challenges for fullback next year. Dufty’s form has crashed these past few weeks, without his running & passing game he’s nothing more than a liability in defence.

doing my head in.

On that, I actually think our long term coach should coach our CC side not be NRL assistant. I think he will get more experience that way and we need a really solid coach coaching our reserve grade side because they are the players that need that coaching to develop them into first graders. Our CC side will be very handy with the likes of Sullivan, Ramsey and at least one Feagai bro plus Blacker and BB if we resign him.

Brittain looked very very good to me. That try to Host was from his decision to quickly switch down the short side. He also put Norman through a gap. I would be very tempted to move Hunt back to 7 and try him at 9 with Norman missing out. McInnes was immense, I also thought Lawrie was very good.

Going to cop it for some of this but when Bennett came in he brought a lot of shopping. Some of our players are talented but have been giving generous opportunities to shine and they have been found to lack consistency.

As the new coach, in the pursuit of a premiership I would be cutting the following players in red and putting the players in blue on notice, and then phasing them out of the club if they continue to plataeu under proper guidance. There's no way Young (or Furner it seems) could make these calls just as McGregor could not or did not.

1. Matt Dufty
2. Jordan Pereira
3. Euan Aitken
4. Zac Lomax
5. Mikaele Ravalawa
6. Corey Norman
7. Adam Clune
8. Blake Lawrie
9. Ben Hunt
10. Josh Kerr
11. Tyson Frizell
12. Jacob Host
13. Cameron McInnes (c)

Interchange:
14. Billy Brittain
15. Jackson Ford
16. Tyrell Fuimaono
17. Kaide Ellis

Tariq Sims
Korbin Sims
Paul Vaughan

I'm fed up with hiding from the ladder, the statistics, the mates who support other teams. I am finding it impossible to get my kids interested in the Dragons.

I agree with most of that bar Lawrie and Hunt. Lawrie I’d keep, he just needs another big bopper to compliment him and Hunt is on notice to me. The rest I agree with. Dufty has weaknesses I’m not sure can be overcome. His contesting of the high ball is just not first grade level and is getting targeted more and more regularly.

Sorry BIGREDV but I have to challenge you. The Lomax Ravalawa combo is really building nicely, they are both signed long term & will generate 25+ tries for years to come.

Both Kerr & Lawrie are improving & will be better next year. We are a quality prop short hopefully we have a big crack for Jack Hetherington he’d be a great addition. Jackson Ford is filling in but he’s not a prop I’d like to see him get the right edge spot once Frizell is gone.

both Sims brothers have had a bad year with injuries but are good players when fit.

If de Belin comes back Hunt to go back to 7 & unfortunately Clune will miss out, shame because he’s playing well.

It seems that's what DY wants to do in the future, I can't see any other reason for bringing in Brittain unless he was trialling him for the 9 spot in 2021 with Hunt moving back to 7. Also agree regarding Lawrie.

Would like to see more dimension to lawrie's game. I hope the new coach encourages off loads and second phase play.

If Cody Ramsey has a big offseason Dufty will definitely be under pressure. I rate Ramsey very highly he’s got the potential to be a more complete player

3 aspects of Rava's game need to be worked on - defensive reads (comes up with amazing hits but too many times comes of his wing), stamina (those plods back with the ball are ineffectual and get us on the back foot) and handling (he's good for a drop or two most games). I do love him but there's big issues there if we are fair dinkum.

Would love to see Hetherington too. A fierce, aggressive player. Lawrie and Kerr go missing often. Blake showed tonight he couldn't handle the pressure near the line. Embarrassed by Molo and gave away the match losing penalty with a brain snap. Where is the extra dimension in his game, never an offload. Kerr has huge potential but if plateauing for mine. A bit like we witnessed with Host who is only just coming good now though will have to see if it continues after his next contract. For mine, Kerr needs to up his game. We have no match winners, no dominators up front.

Props take a long time to mature, he’s on the right track. Runs hard, fast and frequently. Puts pressure on kickers, and can pass. I also wish he would develop an offload, hopefully the new coach will encourage this. With the lack of props on the market i definitely wouldn’t be getting rid of one of ours on the up. Hunt I’m not sure, he’s never going to dominate, never really has. With the right partner/coach he could be a really good player but I don’t have confidence in him single handedly steering a ship if say the 5/8 goes off injured etc.
