I was surprised to see Gaz interview Folkes at half time.
Is that a sign re Prices successor (for the rest of 2013) ?

It's highly doubtful that a coach under the pump would give an interview at half time. I wouldn't read much into it really, had it been the post match press conference then different story.

Another hat in the ring - Jim Dymock. Hasler's assistant, always rated him as a player - did well in ahis albeit short stint coaching Doggies at end of 2011.

If we are really going to replace Price, I would feel bad for him wish him the best. The only real guy I'm keen on is Tim Sheens, experienced and has the runs on the board. I'm a little tired of rookies unless it's Hornby in a few years time.:D

The hole is way to deep to get us out of this year, there is no magic bullet.

But if we can atleast pick the coach, let him get to know the players and start to look at how the team needs to look for next year... who we keep, who we bring up from cutters, who needs a reshuffle, and even better if he could pull a few players with him ala what Bennett did...

i think if we sack Price and get someone decent we can still claw our way out the hole this season.
1. a new coach could get current players to all lift 10% each
2. throw in some actual attacking plays and tactics
3. and we still have until June to recruit a centre and a half. if they arent looking in the UK i will give up!

all is not lost if we act now... but knowing the dragons they will let it drag on for another month, by that time we will be something like 1 win from 7 and game over..

I think it's clear that the general sentiment indicates that there are very few quality head coaching candidates.

Theres an interesting thing happening ATM as all reports indicate that 3 coaches are under threat. IF other teams act first in sacking their HC than coaching stocks will be stretched even further.

last season i was hoping we would get Potter... but the tigers were smarter than us.. in the 3 games so far i can see the tigers getting better each match. we havent got any better in over 12 months.

so given we werent smart enough to get the best coach available (assuming Bellamy was NEVER leaving the storm), i think we should grab Tony Smith ASAP!!! he is the next best option, and already has links to the club so it should be a no brainer if we showed any interest....

Can't believe the support for Sheens. 10 seasons at the Tigers for 3 finals appearances, throw in a 'Stephen Bradbury' premiership. Plus 3 premierships with an over-the-cap Raiders side. And 5 years at the Cowboys for absolute zippo.

Ask anyone over on the Tigers forums how glad they were to see the back of him.

I was speaking to a tigers player over the weekend and he had some very positive things to say about Mick Potter and funnily enough he also gave Braith a wrap. The team is buying into what he is preaching. Still early days but the feedback is positive for the first time in a long time tigers players are being held accountable for what they do off the field.

Don't know much about Tony Smith but on a side note I do know Tony's nephew who was a former roosters staffie. He was given the flick when his fathers job was given to Trent Robinson whats strange is Trent Robinson replaced him with his younger brother... needless to say Christmas lunch would have been tense in the Smith household
