Who is going to write a reference for the illawarrians to help them find another jv?

Albert?

Wollongong people won’t support St George stand alone.

They won’t wear it.

They’ve already been reduced to an NRL presence of being a pair of socks. They’ve learnt to live with that, but don’t take away what’s left of their dignity!

There will be rivers of blood cascading to Fairy Meadow, the lights will go out in Dapto.

@muzby will lead the charge. The Greta Thungberg of Albion Park Rail.
These days, how many people refer to the Sharks as Cronulla-Sotherland or the Dogs as Canterbury-Bankstown or Manly as Manly-Warringah?

Nothing about the 'Joint Venture has been a winner for St George however it allow Illawarra to avoid the pain that clubs like Newtown and North Sydney have suffered.

I was born in Bulli Hospital in 1954 but have always been a St George Supporter. Some very fond memories. But like Bulli Hospital, the Illawarra arm of the joint venture has seen its best days pass by.

A restructure is needed with Illawarra taking on a more junior development role for the St George Rugby League Football Club.

Except you gave an example of what has been a winner later in this post

Getting a huge junior base seems like a big win to me

Benji is going to have out to ink over the Illawarra part of his 2016 grand final winning tatt.

No doubt draw a large flesh light over it and a heart. He misses his rubber “Sharon”

True love never dies.

Would not make any difference. Our club is run by clowns that don't give a shit about their supporters.
Us Wests Tigers fans look up to your board.

Inheriting a position on the board is new though.

Hopefully we can recruit Albert and improve our fortunes.

A poll by email to a limited and select audience, numbers unknown and photoshopped in a Newscorp tabloid before the results are counted. Or has it?
C'mon muz, you're smarter than that

Did you take the survey?
That newscorp one isn’t linked to the club survey (the club have Illawarra as a standalone option, newscorp have left that out.. which probably explains why the St George Illawarra version gets more votes)

But I did take the club survey.. had to do a bit of manipulation to get in as they have screening questions at the start which boots out people from interstate (odd thing to do, given the large number of interstate and expat fans the club has)

It is a pretty poorly structured survey though.. Particularly how it can be taken multiple times if you put the right steps in place to get around the cookies..

I’ve currently got a program running which is taking the survey 10,000 times - each having a slightly different way of telling the club to change its name to the Guerilla Bay Dragons..

I think it’s important to get representation further down the south coast than Illawarra (I was going to write the program to suggest Moruya so we could all get to see Weyman’s statue a bit more) but figured that may be too far south. So Guerilla Bay it is.

I know it’s spelt differently to gorilla, but figured it could be easy to adopt a gorilla into the mascot to make it more marketable..

Instead of happy dragon wearing our jersey, we could have someone in a gorilla suit wearing the jersey at home games..

Plus we could throw the green day version of the saints are coming, and have “in the air tonight” play before a game..

Not to mention cross promotions with the likes of Mogo Zoo, the possibilities are endless..

The club really does need to let go of tradition & stop living in the past.. time to embrace the future!

Interesting to see that the overwhelming majority don’t want to see the team called the St George Dragons

We’re talking more than 2/3 people.. Closer to 3/4..

With 89 votes, that means 35.6 people voted for STI Dragons. Now if that were the Roosters taking a poll it would represent more than half their supporter base, but i would think you would want a bigger data set before making any decisions if I were a Dragon's board member.

But the Gymea Gorilla's might take us to court for passing off their brand.

If you blokes are so bad…then we must be even worse, because you blokes just came last and we’re signing all your offcuts….btw…I think we should keep “wests” in our STGI name!

One thing confused me. I figure this was only sent to the RedV members? Then why do they need to ask if we have a membership or are just casual supporters? Seemed a little odd…

I would rather them fight to have the premierships under the 1 name and not 1 under St George Illawarra Dragons and the others 15 under St George Dragons. That is a huge joke to me. The St George Dragons have expanded not completely left the competition. Funny how Eastern Suburbs and Sydney Roosters have the combined amount of premierships. That would be more confusing than what Saints are copping if I was an outsider.

If they do go back to St George, does that mean that if and a big IF they win a comp soon it will be down as 1 showing St George Dragons 15, St George Illawarra Dragons 1 and St George Dragons 1?

If I was to vote I would leave it the same provided the premierships are combined.

Can someone please share the link so we can vote?
