Got to say - just been doing a sh1t load of reading.
I'm going to keep this - A glass half Full.
We will make the semis
then
As so many men have said
"Then It all starts again."
Right now we need leaders - And I believe we've got that.
On the field Ben Hunt has become that leader Griffin required - See him post Origin QLD chat.
Manning up when Cherry-Evans was shell shocked.
Coach Griffin has focus under the current storm.
Sure We are going to take a bitch slapping.
The media are just waiting for us to roll over. One by One they are peddling their own team boat.
eg Buzz & Cronulla - as so on.

When our guys next put the Red V on some good sh!t is going to happen.
I really do hope our boys man up and play some solid 1st Grade football.
Hell - we can win the comp.

Mate your profile pic is of him hiding under a bed. He didn't stuff up twice, he was cleared. What people do in their personal lives is not our business. He is not the first player to be unfaithful, he nor the rest of the Dragons are probably not the first to sneak a few covid beers in together either just quietly. To be quite honest what they actually did was by covid standards not as bad as what Cleary did last year when the pandemic was rife. Nor the Dogs players who actually went out. The only thing that makes their situation so bad is that there were so many players from the one team all at one event.
Hands up who hasn’t done something against covid rules.

Won’t be many.
I see it every single day Zurgy.

I think it would be worse if they had players from other sides over, rightly or wrongly, it was essentially a team bonding session.

They took a big risk to share each other’s company in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.

I think shooting vaughny over it creates a very bad feel. The players won’t like it and may even feel a bit guilty over it. That’s going to distract them and hurt them emotionally, but ultimately they will blame the club and not their mate.

If I was Hook, I’d be telling them in the privacy of the change rooms that I fought hard for Vaughny in the directors meeting, so the lads would have some belief in me.

The board have made a bad situation worse. Now you’re off to the fog of the market, and the rest of us are in a bidding war for his good and fine services, less 8 weeks. Players are quite emotional and temperamental. Seems counter-intuitive, but that’s the case.

If you guys win the comp after losing twice to the Tigers you will enter RL folklore.

That is an idiotic take dripping in self entitlement.
THE PLAYERS are the bad guys here, not the Government, wider society, NRL nor the club.

Have a look around mate.
You are the only dickhead saying this.
Do you not understand what this is all about or something?
The country keeps getting thrown into lockdown due, in part, to this type of shit.
Snitchy-puss gas lighting me again.

I haven’t seen hundreds of house party’s happening because “ if the dragons can do it, so can we”

You explain to me why sacking Vaughny is good for sgi? Tell us how great everything is going to be?

Ps: I think the bye will score a record number of points against us this week.

It’s not being a snitch you ignorant f**kwit. None of us want this lockdown shit to keep happening and idiots like this just drag it out longer. Are you against the vaccine as well?
Vaughn had to go. He has form in this matter last year, decided to host a party despite instruction from the club and NRL not to and lied his arse off about the whole thing. He made his club and the NRL look weak on the political stage, possibly affected the NRL season completion which would have massive ramifications and possibly the health of his team mates…what do you expect them to do? They had no option.

What can’t be ignored is the large gap left in the sgi pack with no ready and able replacement during the finals.

The naughty conduct has been blown way out of proportion by others and everyone is suffering because of the response, much more than the actual bad conduct.

And this type of crazed response from brother Stryker is what you get when people embrace the hate and outrage fed to them by the media.

He couldn’t tell me why sacking Vaughny was good for sgi except for some vile vengeance. Not good enough I say.

I’m in lockdown like every other bastard and yes, I obey the rules too!

Sorry, but being embarrassed to be a Dragon's fan just doesnt sit well with me. Been a proud red v fan for nearly 60 years now, and always will be. I still wear my Dragons polos etc at least once every week. Disappointed in the current mob, and many times disappointed throughout those 60 years. If anyone has a dig at me when seeing me wearing my supporter gear, I have a laugh with them. If ever anyone feels embarrassed, imagine how much more embarrassing it would be to say you were a Sharks fan, or Tigers etc. If it hurts you so bad, why not jump on the Storm bandwagon, or Rabbitohs, or Panthers? Most clubs go through pitfalls, or golden eras. I will ride this one out like I have countless other times. But my polos are washed, ironed, and hanging in my wardrobe for me to wear out loud and proud again this weekend.
What a great answer-im with you-always will be a Dragons supporter-rain,hail or shine.Just wish they didnt make it so hard to be one though

Dorothy, good on you old mate. Like most of us here, we'll stick it out and ride on with you. But mate, my ass is getting sore riding this one out. I feel like I've been sitting on a fork since Bennett took off. When you look at the catastrophic decisions since 2008 it is bewildering that the same idiots (Doust, Young etc) are still employed:

i. Wayne Bennett wants a 5 year deal but Doust is only prepared to offer the 6 time premiership winning coach a 3 year deal. Great decision.
ii. The BOD appoints Steve Price as Bennett's successor (and extend his contract on Anzac Day no less). Great decision.
iii. The BOD having seen the error of their ways in appointing a rookie/novice coach in Steve Price; sack Price and appoint the vastly experienced, vastly credentialed Paul McGregor. AND/AND/AND they extend his contract not once...but wait for it twice, thereby making McGregor the longest standing coach in Dragons history. That means McGregor coaches for 7 years v Bennett coaching for 3 years. Now that makes for great reading. Great decision(s).

Riding this one out Dorothy means riding out the BOD who are responsible for the litany of appalling decisions that have diminished our Club to that of a laughing stock. And yet they remain ensconced on the BOD.

Here is the dilemma. The Club is private and therefore it is almost impossible to remove the idiots on the BOD; and yet they administer the Club on behalf of the supporters and yet we have no say in their appointment. That is like entering a boxing match with your hands tied behind your back? Not much chance of winning.

Until and unless Gordon, Doust, Young and others are removed and a new constitution and governance regime is implemented we the supporters are going to be sitting on forks for years and years to come.
Spot on!

On a tangent, Hadley used the phrase "tumbling for it" three times tonight.

I've never come across that phrase before. Or is he just channeling Culture Club in criticising the club's culture?

Ryan Webb has made a positive impact in his time as CEO - however in his interview regarding the Paul Vaughan affair he states that he doesn’t think the Dragons have a culture problem!!!
That’s the start of the problem right there!
Not acknowledging a problem is a sure way of not addressing it!
Sorry Mr Webb – there very clearly is a culture problem at the Dragons!
However, you are not the only club with that problem!
We need to seriously look at values across all clubs, particularly values regarding responsibility, reliability and integrity!
And as with all integrity and trust issues, you have to walk the walk, as well as talk the talk!
Clear standards, well explained, widely promoted and modelled, and consistently expected and applied is what is required!

It’s quite possible that Vaughan might have had some other underlying behavioural issues we’re not aware of. 2 COVID breaches in 2 seasons demonstrates he’s not the best character example for the younger guys coming through.

Obviously 2021 is now looking very shaky can only hope we’ll be a lot more consistent with some better characters in the team next year.

I hope we throw the cheque book at Dale Finucane, he’ll fill the void left by Vaughan & from all reports he’s a total professional off the field.

Vaughan is suspended for the remainder of the 2021 regular season away & 2 signings like Dale Finucane & Jayden Su’a will cement the pack for 2022.

I copped a lot of crap today from my mates even the guy who came to read the water meter ripped me because I was wearing a Dragon’s hoodie!

I’m over it, time to move on, some kids will get a run over the next 4 weeks, we might still jag a few wins.

So we have sacked Vaughan and the NRL has fined and suspended the other 12 players. Where does that leave us as far as a team of NRL players is concerned?

No doubt Vaughan will be picked up by another club and play well for them.

I say it is now time to forget about finals football for 2021 and reveal our best options for 2022 for the rest of the season.

Kerr back to the prop rotation and let's also pick up a good replacement for Vaughan, who is available?

So, drop Norman and give Sullivan/Amone a go for the rest of the season.

Put Sloan at fullback for the rest of the season.

Try Schiller at left-centre and each of the Feagai brothers a turn on the right-wing.

So next season we have Molo and at least one new top grade prop (to replace Vaughan). We are stuck with most of the remaining forwards however, they can play reserve grade if we have the funds to find others:

1. Sloan
2. Ramsey
3. Schiller
4. Lomax
5. Feagai brothers
6. Sullivan/Amone
7. Hunt
8. Lawrie
9. McCullough
10. Pangai Jr
11. Sims
12. Bird
13. De Belin

14. Kerr
15. Faamausili
16. Burnes
17. McGuire

Next season prop rotation:
Molo

Finucane
Pangai Jr
Lawrie
Kerr
