I’d take 2 of them over the mad scientist.Yep it does
Ex players as coaches in my view have never workedI’d take 2 of them over the mad scientist.
You mean specifically for our club or in general?Ex players as coaches in my view have never worked
Our clubYou mean specifically for our club or in general?
Because there are examples of ex players being successful coaches at the clubs that they played for.
Brian Smith the last successful one that I can remember. Our club
Bennett?Ex players as coaches in my view have never worked
In my humble view it just doesn't workBrian Smith the last successful one that I can remember.
A lot of duds since.
St Benny but not too many others, Bellamy as well but I was specifically talking about our beloved clubBennett?
I never watch the replay or the press conference when we lose. And don’t forget the press conference.
Not a good halfback. Not a good captain. So disappointed with the result I wasn't going to comment but....
What's up with Hunt?
I have noticed the last couple of games he is constantly scowling and mouthing expletives right from the outset.
He doesn't appear to be saying anything to his team mates.
He only seems to be effective from broken play and his kicks are not creating any problems for the receivers.
Agree with most of the comments above although I can't completely blame the coach.
These are adults playing professional sport.
If they can't be motivated for the fans, the team / club, or the coach, they should still be playing for themselves and their careers.
We have seen that they can perform for periods of the game, so they can do better.
I suspect we are missing a top class forward leader or two to keep these guys accountable...like Webke, Kennedy, etc.
A no nonsense player who makes sure the players don't get into lazy bad habits.
The Storm have always had a couple of dominant forwards and the halves running the team during the game ensuring that they don't let each other down.
Hope we persist with Sloan and Sullivan. Not sure about Lomax, he can't kick goals and is missing tackles.
The young inexperienced players may have an excuse, but the older guys should not be falling apart.
If we can't win the next 2 weeks, we are in big danger of fighting it out for the spoon.
I loved Creagh as a player but he wasn’t a good captain either. Widdop was good. Hunt is rubbish. Barrett was pretty good. Hornby was absolutely the best. Not a good halfback. Not a good captain.
Wayne Bennett being the most impressive example- didn't play for the Broncos but probably would have, had he still been playing when they entered the comp. However played for the Broncos feeder clubs. You mean specifically for our club or in general?

There is a relationship there with the board and Bellamy but I can’t see Craig heading to the gong at 63 years old and taking on the biggest challenge in the NRL, for any amount of money. We don’t need Hasler or Ryles. We’ve been here before. We need to keep Hook for now to our advantage and use this time to knock down the door of the right person. Let Griffin face the fire of being the worst coach of the worst team in the comp. If he walks then we save a bit of money and bring some interim coach in a la Hannay at Sharks.
What we need is the best. we deserve the best because we, a famous club, have now suffered enough. If we’ve gone away from being competitive as a mantra then I want out. We’ve always been competitive and should fight tooth and nail to be up there.
We deserve the best; a man that will come in and sweep 80% of players who he views as surplus to requirements then let him rebuild us with the right stuff. As bad as our coaches have been we have also had some pretty uncoachable players to boot. They will be weeded out controversy and all. Let us purge.
Everyone knows who that man is. Yes, it seems unlikely but no more than getting Bennett over in 08. Offer Craig the absolute world and bring some honour back to the big red v.
I know but if that’s how we think and how the board thinks then it won’t happen. Stranger things have and he is available in theory next season. Bang, bang, bang his door down. This misery must end. Get another ‘decent’ bloke in and he will suffer the same fate as the last three. Get a coach that’s not been sacked before. That’s what you want. There is a relationship there with the board and Bellamy but I can’t see Craig heading to the gong at 63 years old and taking on the biggest challenge in the NRL, for any amount of money.
But I have been wrong before, once or twice!
