My two cents worth...
----
Stewart - potential but a long way off (comparisons to Dufty not far off)
Mat Feagai - clearly still needs to work on his deficiencies identified in 2022
Suli - limited opportunities, does look a fitter, should go good this season
Lomax - was slightly above average for mine, like him being on the left
Rava - solid, and needs some more time to dust off his cobwebs coming back from injury
Muhleisen - need to see him playing his natural position
Mbye - did we not have another young half who could have played? No kick pressure (cringing at the thought he may get the nod for the 6 jersey in the early rounds)
F Molo - DNP, why not ?
Liddle - seeing some potential with his speed, yet to convinced that he will be of any more value than Macca
Lawrie - solid and starting to step up as a forward leader now
Murdoch-Masila - was impressed with some of his touches, should make the 17, albeit full value still to be realised
Burns - below average (not convinced he is first grade worthy)
J Hunt - below average (not convinced he is first grade worthy)
Moga - this guy should not be holding back any juniors in the event of injury to the outside backs
Max Feagai - needs more opportunity
M Molo - DNP, why not?
Coric - need to see more of him
Lui-Toso - need to see more of him
Russell - went ok, need to see more
H Finau - potential
S Finau - potential, more ahead of his sibling
Lobb - going to need time to develop
Tamale - was impressed with what I saw of him, albeit it was against a tiring defence, time to develop
Shereb - not sure, career path could go either way
Cook - not sure, career path could go either way
T Couchman - this set of brothers are a good prospect
Herring - why did Mbye have so much more game time?
Egan - going to need more time to develop, but one of the better young forwards who got a go
R Couchman - this set of brothers are a good prospect

All in all:
We have a host of regulars who will come back into the squad for the Charity Shield next week. Look forward to seeing who gets a second chance out of the young brigade in amongst our regulars as well.
But, the biggest negative for mine, when I watch the young Panthers run around yesterday, we are so far behind where we need to be in terms of young player development and churning them through the system.
Unless we nurture this crop of juniors vs continuing to use plodders week-in-week-out, we're never going to step up and become a team that regularly plays finals, into one that pushes for top four finishes and ultimately Grand Finals.
We aren't a 'destination club' who is going to attract big name talent (even for a truckload of money) - so we are left now to identify talent from within. The work on this seriously has to start happening this year. I get it, most of them aren't ready for first grade right now, but they also need the confidence from the head coach, support staff, and club management that their is a pathway for them to first grade at this club.
