Not many Posters here would remember or have been to one. Quite a few posters here were probably conceived in one though!!

I used to go to the one at Bass Hill, many years ago.

Which unfortunately closed down earlier this year. The ex and I used to love going to the drive-in - awesome fun. For many reasons.

Just wondering how many people still go to the drive in theatre. I regularly go to the one here in newy and I love it. Gets good crowds and is a good night for someone as old and boring as me

Anyone remember going to one in their youth, or still going nowadays. There is not many left unfortunately

Theres one here in Newcastle?

I went to the Newcastle one to see Shrek when it came out and it was a bit of a sh*tty experience due to the service and we never really went back. I imagine it was just a one-off though..

I agree about the service mate..

Last time I went to Heddon Greta would have been about 16 months ago, so it may have changed since then..

The last few times the 'kiosk / cafe' was so understaffed by utterly incompetent teenagers who simply didn't want to be there..

So the last two times we went, I / we had to make our way back to the car without what we wanted because it would have been ready 10 mins after the next movie started or it was just waiting in line..

We used to take our own stuff quite a bit, but there's always a member of out group that had to get something from the kiosk..

Look, it's a good night out, but if you like competent service by a catering organisation that should anticipate crowds and customer consumption over the night, then bring your own stuff..

Also, If you want to go to the toilet, go before you leave home or do it in your pants..More hygenic that way..

Having said that..$40 for 3 movies PER CAR..They might be able to improve service and dunnies, but then they'd have to charge $50-60 per car...??

Oh I also assume they sell the usual cinema type goodies there. Choc tops, popcorn etc.

Also if its a good double don't get there when the gates are already open. Long lineups. Get there in plenrty of time. Usually only sat nights

Ok I'll keep that in mind.

Also anybody tried that stunt of hiding people in the boot?

I used to go to Chullora Drive-In. It was huge. I assume it's gone now.

Plus Caringbah. I recall they had some R-rated flick one night which was surprising given that it could be seen by anyone cruising past. The streets had all these panel vans parking outside to get a cheap thrill.

There was a big one here on the Gold Coast until about 10 years ago. An oldie told me that he used to see Wallabies hopping around. It's now Harbourtown shops.

There are a couple of outdoor theatres that show free movies occasionally. Very popular. They're sort of like drive-ins, except you don't drive in.

Willow there is still a big rusty screen seen from the highway leading out of coolangatta. Near the new m1 highway to brisbane. Obviously an old drive in
