Make a swap deal with the Tigers, Farah for Rein and maybe throw in Dylan Farrell to sweeten the deal. Simple:cool:

Can't force a player to sign for another club. We could release him, but then we would be liable for any unpaid money under his contract, which doesnt finish until the end of next season. So Tigpies would have to agree to take on the WHOLE of Rein's inflated contract, in addition to paying half (at least) of Farah's contract, in order for any 'swap' to happen. In addition, Rein would have to want to leave to go to Tigpies, a team that has publicly labelled Cherrington as their future hooker.

So yeah, simple indeed...

GC and Newcastle may also be interested. If it comes down to Rein simply not wanting to go, tell him he will be playing out his contract in northern Siberia. Simple:cool:

Just a guess, but there's a chance that Reins contact may not include siding to Northern Siberia. Problem is, we cant afford to hold Resin in reserve grade (or anywhere) as well as pay Farrah.

Or the coaching staff don't want rid of Rein ?
As for old mate Vodka, some random thoughts have come into play there.
Very random

Send Rein on his way somewhere. He is surely not on more than about 350~400k a year. GC, Newcastle or Tigers would certainly be willing to pay 250~350k for a fringe rep player who in theory is in his prime. Then pay Farah 450k with the Tigers to pick up the difference. If the reports are true about him being in the NSW Cup if he stays, the Tigers would surely pay the difference.

If Rein refused to go...well he wouldn't refuse so it's a moot point. Given the choice of the same money to continue his career elsewhere rather than be sent to the Illawarra division is an easy choice.

The simple aspect is that the Dragons have a massive opportunity and unless Farah simply doesn't want to come, need to do whatever it takes to sign him. If at least 90% of our enemies needed a good No.9, they would do what it takes to sign Farah. Third party agreements, brown paper bags, a harem, a year's supply of free Russian vodka, the assassination of Jason Taylor. I don't care but the club needs to get it done! Simple:cool:

It would be too bad. Rein isn't a bad player. Most hookers don't play 80min and many can't kick. I guess it's more an indication of how good Farah is rather than Rein being bad.

But not consistently passing out of dummy half, over the top, at the feet, one the bounce, too far behind or in front of the first receiver is something every hooker in the competition seems to be able to do except Rein.

It's amazing how so many commentators and journalists get it all wrong about Rein. Apparently some see him as talented, hard working and moving into the years where he should give the best return to a club. I'm pleased we know more than the so-called experts.

We need to be careful we don't get what we wish for and get Farah. Not getting any younger, spent a lot of this season off the field with chronic injury, and with all the pressure, media campaigns and the rest, the Tigers are standing firm on their belief that he is a damaging influence on the club. The Tigers are either very, very stupid, or, there is some truth in the stories about Farah. Near Benji and our younger players ? No thanks.

Have to agree. Not sure why Rein is the target of everyone's angst. He defends well, comes up with some good runs and always gives 100 percent. Yes, I know, there are some bad passes from dummy half and he's not Smith, Luke or Farah but bloody hell, he's still in the top half of the hookers in the comp. Maybe not an 80 minute player but I think we're making an effort to address that with some of our buys for next season.

Anyway, what do I know, I've never been a first grade coach...

lol, most forum members would be no worse than Steve Price was during his tenure.

We all whine because Mitch Rein is not the best hooker in NRL.

If we applied that standard across the whole team, the whining would reach apocalyptic levels.

Unfortunately our lack of point scoring in 2015 has lead to some lopsided criticism of Rein, Widdop and Benji at times this year. They are human and busted their arses for the club.

Respect.

Farrah is the player who could get our re-vamped pack moving forward. He is very astute and usually comes up with the right last tackle play.

Farrah and Mashall could re-visit cominations formed over so many years something that our Dragons are badly lacking these days.

I have no doubt his addition to our roster would only be a positive move for our Club. I'm sure Farrah would not be a problem at the Dragons.

I was against Farah coming because I think he is destructive, can't take criticism and is up himself. But then Alan Jones comes out and praises him and now I feel totally comfortable saying no to Farah. He must be Alan's love child because Jones is a destructive wanker who thinks he is god's gift to everyone. Him attacking Taylor for his coaching ??? I had to read his quotes twice to see if he really criticised a rugby league coach. He was brilliant when he tried it at Balmain. Not !

So if 'Coast Dragons' were to praise you, should we automatically assume you are a f*****g h**** as a result?

Farah has no power over what Alan Jones says. Taylor is a terrible coach and I'm quite certain will be gone sooner rather than later.

Possm is right. Robbie Farah would be a revelation for the Dragons. I know he is aging and past his best but he is still without question one of the best hookers in the competition (in my opinion, the best). And if the numerous reports about his dedication to training are true, he should be good for at least 3 more years. During which time the Dragons can find a good young hooker who can do everything Rein does and pass out of dummy half.

Ennis was talking some weeks ago about how there is an abundance of really good No.9s in the NRL at present. Realistically speaking, if Rein could pass well out of dummy half he would be in the top half of hookers in the NRL but he can't and he isn't.

If Farrah leaves how pumped will he be to impress? I hope Saints can benefit from that and they will if he goes to them.

Benji had similar rumors flying around that he disrupted the club? The Saints looked more closer as a group of players than ever since he joined.

Farah would be a fantastic buy for the club and well worth the risk as they did teh same for Benji and Duges. Oh and Packer.

oh vaseline don't bring me into your stupid threads.

after the absymal attempt at being funny in regards to Rein playing and what not you showed how f**king stupid you are.

I'd put you on par with dino, grouch and objective.

If only we could off load fans like you to other clubs that would be excellent. Since your so in love with Farah why don't you go support that shitty club.

The Wests Tigers say out-of-favour skipper Robbie Farah will not be automatically dropped to reserve grade should he stay on at the NRL club next year.

The NSW State of Origin hooker has been told he is free to negotiate with rival clubs after reportedly falling out with coach Jason Taylor.

The club has promised to honour the final two years of Farah's $950,000-a-season contract, but coach Jason Taylor has said it was best for all parties if he moves on.

Farah, a Tigers life member, said he was told that if he stayed put he would be playing in NSW Cup and would be a part-time member of the squad.

The 31-year-old has been told he is on club probation for behavioural problems and has been linked with a move to St George Illawarra in recent weeks.

However Tigers chief executive Justin Pascoe said while all selection decisions rested with Taylor, the club did not have a policy of blocking him from playing first grade.

"Robbie, like any other player will be assessed on his merit and what's in the best interest of the team at that particular time," Pascoe said on Sky Sports Radio.

"I've also got to stress that no player, including Robbie, is permanently prohibited from playing first grade at any stage just like no player is guaranteed of playing first grade."
