Hmmmm. Good question. Matthew Johns stated that apparently it's the case. Perhaps it's not accurate. It would be too good to be true if he were picked up by the Dragons or a nightmare if he were picked up by another rival club under those conditions.

I would go as far as to say that no club would be prepared to spend half a million bucks ($500k) of their salary cap for the next 2 years, to have a player play against them (Tigers).
If they did, it just shows how diabolical the Tigers cap management has been and is currently.
Farah is not a good fit for our squad and keep in mind we have also signed NZ rep player/hooker, Havili for next year. Our targets will be backs...smart centres and speedy wingers hopefully.

I understand what you're saying but it's a huge ask and will honestly hamper them for years. I think the Tigers were hoping he'd be snapped up before this all eventuated.
Lock away in your memory banks the name Sam Ayoub and how he conducts his business 'working' for his clients !....that's another story.
If Farah digs his heels in, they pay him but to have at least $500k knocked off your cap before a ball is kicked is ludicrous.
My gut feeling is he goes to Knights or Titans that need a decent hooker and an experienced team leader, or a 'deal' will be done that sees him go overseas for money outside of the cap....if you know what I mean ;-)

I agree with the team needing outside backs but if it were true about how much the Tigers are willing to pay for him to play at another club, it would be madness for the Dragons not to pick him up. But then again, it would be madness for any club not to try and pick him at that price so I presume it isn't true.

Yes, yes...opinions and all that but doing what you suggest (buying Farah) only weakens our squad in other positions that have been identified as requiring strengthening. That is, spending money on the wrong positions or players just for the sake of it.
And that folks....is how you end up with poor salary cap management !

Again. I agree with your basic analysis. Rein is surely on more than 300k a season and he surely isn't as good as Farah (whether the stories about Farah being a complete homie are true or not). Surely there would be another club willing to take Rein. He is too good a player.

Farah of course would usually play 80min (a huge advantage on the hookers at most clubs) Havili would be the perfect foil. Big enough to come on in the forwards and a decent dummy half in case Farah needs a rest.

Anyway, I presume what Matthew Johns reported isn't accurate. The Warriors or Storm probably wouldn't want him (as they are already paying huge money for their No.9s) but surely every other club would be tripping over itself trying to get Farah on those conditions.

I wouldn't take Farrah if he was given to us for free. We have enough trying to fit one ex Tiger into the Dragons Team, let alone two whom would overtake the running of the show. No our priority should be a real halback to replace Benji and speed in the outside backs.
