That was Curran. They dropped the GBH charge, the theft and larceny. He has to replace the kid’s phone in addition to the GBO. No conviction recorded. Pled guilty to the lesser assault charge (ABH for knocking his teeth out).

At no stage has he been stood down despite assaulting a child.

So he actually pleaded guilty to assaulting a 16 year old kid, and the NRL has not suspended him even for one game?

Or is the NRL just taking their time trying to figure out exactly what his punishment could be. I mean it couldn’t be time already served since he was able to play through the whole ordeal.

It's crazy... some players get stood down uponcharge in advance - with a guilty or non-guilty verdict to come - and some players can play through charges and end up with a guilty verdict and no penalty from the league during or after the trial?

There's no real consistency as to which charges merit which avenue - but I guess this is from the same people that brought us the match review committee and judiciary after all.

I think the fact that Dylan Brown is a pretty well known player and no one knows who the f**k Josh Curran is might have something to do with it.
