I'm actually surprised the integrity unit didnt make an announcement today. I think we'll see one by Sunday, as from Monday the press-cycle all becomes around origin again with teams being named, and its in the NRL's best interests for the Dylan situation to slip away and be drowned out by origin chatter. If they wait too long into next week it will dominate headlines
I was expecting a 5pm Friday announcement to get everyone riled up for weekend, but really unless the club decides to punish him further and announce earlier, I reckon there won’t be anything said until Tuesday

The NRL could be gutless (perish the thought) and just not say anything, leaving us wondering if we can name him next Tuesday afternoon... They stood him down indefinitely. Abdo the weak merkin might just sit back and hope we don't name him and he won't get a call from Ray Hadley and he'll just be able to do his grocery shopping as normal next Monday morning...

Yeah, if that was the case and we don't force the issue to get some clarity, then we're f**king incompetent.

Unless of course we just name him and go all your call NRL.

If only the NRL had the intestinal fortitude to speak to BA.

Let’s hope his son stumbles across another batch of coke on the weekend. Will tie him up all next week. :)

They did announce he is no longer subject to the No fault standown, so if they don't say anything we could just pick him until we hear otherwise.

Yep, surely in the absence of any other communication from the NRL, we're free to name Dylan in the 22-man squad on Tuesday, and should just do so.

Assuming Moses is retained for Origin and named on Sunday night:
6. Brown
7. Asi

Puffery or not, he disobeyed team protocol. Hope he learns from this.
Team protocol? The charges stated that he felt up the woman on 5 occasions " from 11.19pm and 11.20pm on Saturday " .

I think we can all agree with the mantra that nothing goid happens in the cross after 3am etc but he was at his local. Since when does a club have a policy that you can't go out ?

I agree that some squads shake hands on no booze until after the GF etc and no doubt our lads have a don't f**k up agreement. But gee he's a young kid who will learn from this. Not from alcohol on a bye round, but respect for women.

For mine there is way too much focus on the fact the he was out and the grog bs and not enough on the misogynistic arrogance that he displayed by taking what wasn't his. We all know that alcohol is the truth serum and it usually brings out your inner beast. The law has however and quite clearly put him in his place.

The only qualification for that though is that it's entirely plausible that we are in discussions with the NRL about who initiates what sanction, it wouldn't be unlike them to want to see what sanction the club intends or actions, and then decide if it's satisfactory to them.

This has been the case plenty of times in the past, but not sure if they are still doing that kind of thing.

Another thing that plays a part here is that Brown is entitled to procedural fairness, the NRL can't just land on a punishment completely at its own discretion without justification, there has to be a process that at the least makes a show of weighing up all the factors involved, else wise if they go to hard, it may be subject to challenge.

I still hold my opinion. We'll have to agree to disagree.

When you’re a young bloke earning massive money playing footy, I think there are certain realities you have to accept. Firstly, you’re not an average 23 year old who can just go out and get shitfaced with your mates. That’s one of the things you should be sacrificing at least during the season.

Dylan comes across to me (perhaps unfairly - I’ve never met him) as someone who is just coasting on his immense talent, much like Hayne did. He doesn’t seem to be a student of the game. He doesn’t study video of his opposition, he doesn’t do the extras.

I hope this is a massive kick up the arse for him. As a player, he could be the best in the game. I‘m sure he’s a nice bloke and I know he does some great work off the field, but keep your alcohol consumption to a few celebratory beers after a win, or save your massive bender til after we win a comp.
