Actually what protects Western women is the feminisation of Western men. Testosterone levels are in heavy decline and so few men are threatening these days that women feel safe enough to display their secondary sexual characteristics. In Egypt/India/etc, very few men have undergone the same level of feminisation, so their libidos are high and sexual harassment is rampant. These ancient religious/legal codes all say that sex outside of marriage is wrong (which includes raping strangers) so that isn't the cause. The fact is humans are animals and respond to animal urges. The reason men get less aggressive as they age is because their testosterone levels drop away. For the same reason, young men with less testosterone are less aggressive than young men with more. I'm sure NRL players would have far more testosterone than the average man. They are outliers.

Well heterosexuals seem to have cornered the market for misunderstandings around consent. We never hear that gay men or lesbians (or straight women) need to learn that no means no, for example.
You make some good points but I disagree that humans are animals. Humans have the ability to control their desires, whilst animals dont. There's no doubt Dylan Brown has done something wrong but I don't think he should be crucified for it. God himself would not be condemning Brown. He's done something silly under the influence of alcohol. He no doubt realises that himself. Just learn, take measures to avoid it in future, and get back on the field so he can help the loser parramatta eels.
So this mysterious Timothy again, bigging up his own scripture/gospel as somehow being just as valuable as the actual words of JC when he had (previously, assuming the chronologies) walked the earth?
You are trying to discredit a bible writer. Do you think the whole bible is the words of Jesus? Timothy is advising women to be modest. Is that wrong? Do you want them walking down the street wearing high heeled shoes and a bikini? And if you say hello to them they sneer at you like you are dirt and if you touch them you go to jail? That's your gospel, don't worry about Timothy.

But my question was who is Timothy in the scheme of things, if he wasn't one of the 12 apostles. Did he even meet JC? Why should his (translated) words matter to a young lady who should be able to attend The Sheaf wearing whatever she wants - for whatever reasons she has for wearing them - but without being sexually touched without consent?
