Mannah is too much of a P$$ssy
No good for origin.Sorry but timg grant would be prefered.
As for Sandow even if our forward start to dominate how will his 5th tackle options improve or help him tackle better?
Teams just go run at sandow and base there game on it and the end game over 20 down

In the first half when the forwards held their own, he was awful. I'm sure if he capitalized on some of the chances we had the forwards would have gained confidence and kept holding them. Just my view mate.

so because we were down 12-4 at ht our forwards stopped trying to lay the platform.

f**k me dead. i really hope that isnt the attitude they have collectively or individually..

Because when he gets the ball on the 5th tackle it will be after a quick play-the-ball against a disrupted defensive line. In fact, with a better pack, far more of our plays will be against a disrupted defensive line, and therefore more plays where it is suitable for Sandow to call the ball.

There's no point passing it to him when the defence is set. May as well just go with another hit-up and see if we get any momentum out of that.

Anyway we don't even need better forwards so much as more player movement off the ball to draw defenders away from the ball carrier. The players know what they have to do but they just couldn't be bothered doing it two weeks in a row.

Likewise in defence - if we can slow down the opposition ruck legally (i.e. by winning the wrestle before the ball carrier hits the ground) then we won't be defending on the back foot. We will be able to set our line and move up quicker, stopping the opposition from being able to shovel the ball out wide to run at an isolated halfback.

The game at the moment is all about forward momentum, and the speed of the play-the-ball.

We were out-muscled in the first half too. That's why we were easily contained even inside their 20. Their defensive line was always organised and ready to move up.

In the second half we gave up. In the first half the effort was there until Fui dropped the ball, we conceded a penalty, and then the Titans scored. We shit ourselves shortly after that.

Are you serious? Tim Mannah is a pussy? Are you serious?

And I rate Tim Grant, but how exactly is he different to Mannah? Because he puts on an angry face? In either case, Grant should consider himself very unlucky to miss out on Origin selection, too.

Tim Grant's 2013 stats

11 games played
181 hit-ups (16 per match)
1,575 metres (143 metres per match)
346 tackles (31 tackles per match)

I still think he won't see out his contract. We have shit forwards but he is f**king clueless and wouldn't know how to get a repeat set to save his life.

He's lost me strides. I think his liabilities outweigh his assets.

I think Sandow had plenty of friends tonight and it wasnt really going to be a game for a half-back to shine with our pathetic display up the middle, but realistically is he good for anything except for a 40/20 kick once a month???

Who does everyone think will last longer, Sandow or Sticky?

I cannot believe Sticky is banking his entire coaching career on a bloke in the 7 who cannot play half-back.

He doesn't have much choice in the matter.
It's not like he can just offload him easily. He is on a big contract and no other team will pick him up for anywhere near what we're paying. We're stuck with him for at least one more year - but we may try to get rid of him for his final year.

I don't think Sticky is banking on that at all. He knows he has selection control, even if contracts were signed before his arrival as coach.

I suspect Sticky has plans for Sandow in 2014, once Keating is gone. Perhaps we'll see Sandow in the 9 or 14 jersey and somehow playing in the middle or defending at marker? 2014 might see Hayne in 6 and Norman in 7, both of whom should be able to tackle in the line out wide. Maybe then Hopoate at fullback?

Suddenly we have a different looking and less predictable spine, and less defensive liability on the flanks. It won't be flashy, but at least it will be different to the past two seasons and alongside a motivated forward pack could stand some hope.
