Well I don't really know, but as I said you can't captain the side from the wing, unless they are going to take the captaincy from him or drop him altogether. I wouldn't mind betting RTS plays wing especially under Maguire, who would have thought of this when making Dallin captain, presuming it was Maguire who made that decision.

It must be remembered that Dallin is the grandson of a previous NZ captain.

He was great for NZ last year and has history behind him. But RTS is simply too good not to be FB for NZ.

No disgrace in Dallin playing wing again and biding his time.

As if the Dally M means shit in regard to national captaincy. Greg Alexander wasn't made captain of Australia.

Do you see the problem that has been created here by making DWZ captain in the first place?

What’s the problem with DWZ being named in the 1st place?

RTS was the best FB in the year last year, he’s also the warriors Captain.

Do you honestly think that DWZ would have been FB and Captain if RTS was available for selection?

Wait and see. It is a peripheral argument anyway.

Not sure how Aekins has been going in reserves. Agree that DWZ should be FB this week (even if he's not named in the 1 on Tuesday).

I've got doubts on Dallin's suitability for FB - apart from strong returns he doesn't seem to offer much in attack. And his dodgy hands. And his apparent lack of a footy brain.

Happy to be proved wrong though.

Aekins 2 try assists. Ave 200m a game so no better time to put him in

Yeh I’d like to see Aekins get a crack too.

At the same time though, I wouldn’t mind seeing Edwards on a dry track v Titans. One good game could turn his season around & IMO a firing Edwards really helps our balance as a side.

Wet weather has hurt granted. A few dodgy calls have made Edwards errors worse.

Run metre leaders for FB are:

RTS. Ave 202
Cuthbertson 193
Nicholl-Klostad 172
Darius 161
Hughes 156

All of whom have scored or had try assists. Hughes and Cuthbertson have even put in kicks.

Those not on the list. Moylan was leading Dally M's til got hurt.

Tedesco. Leads line breaks. 3rd in tackle breaks.

Michael Gordon leading supports category

Alex Johnston has fielded the most kicks..

We are no where on any positive category..

Same was true last year with DWZ spending most of the year back there

Dallin would be top of the category in kick return metres. He averaged more kick return metres tthn any other regular NRL player in 2018. 62m per game. While RTS averaged 59m per game. Holmes averaged 57m per gane.

He did so with games on the wing where he was injured and ran for less than 50 metres total for the game also. His fullback numbers were enormous to lift the average brought down by his wing numbers.

He averaged 147m per game last year, again brought down by his averages on the wing being extremely low. As a fullback you're getting ~180m a game from him.

Teddy has 1 try assist in 4 games. CNK has 0. Gordon has 0. Hughes has 1 etc.

You would have us believe these guys are regularly setting up tries and so DWZ cant compete.

Yet in his fullback stats for New Zealand last year he was on par with them. Granted he had 1 extra game....

But 6 tries, 1 try assist and 3 linebreaks averaging 155m a game in 5 games at international level shows just how good his attack can be. These werent against minnow Nations. These were against Australia and England.

He was the best international fullback in 2018.

lets look at Hughes. Seems to be the one you don't rate out of the Fullbacks.

1 try and 1 try assist probably not the best. 5th in Ave run metres. 106 kick metres though. Gives them an option on the other side if Munster is covered. That is the sort of stuff we need. Not another half as such just another option. DWZ or Edwards don't provide that

Dallin deserves his shot at fullback i hope he goes well and we fix our fullback problems however if he mucks up as well then aekins needs to be brought in immediately.Even brent naden is a decent fullback hes put on size and looks much stronger now.But i think all these guys are just warming the seat for daine laurie he looks like our best option in a few yrs time.

Dallin is gone... Edwards was rumoured to be gone and still could be. Going to be interesting to see if our 2020 fullback is even part of the club at the moment.

No one would want to take Edwards. Error on first touch. This merkin is hopeless.

If i were stuck behind him for fullback I would leave too. Results in an immediate try too.
