You do what is best for the team. DWZ either puts up with it or leaves.

DWZ was just as bad. Dropped a simple kick. Throwing stupid passes across the posts.

For me it is Aekins, Luai then DWZ. That said Ivan never drops guys. So no change with happen
He has put up with his career being held back for 5 years now. It is best for the team to do a Dyl and drop Edwards.

DWZ is the best fullback at the club. With the form Edwards is in right now it's not even worth debating.

It was ridiculous Edwards had a jersey handed straight back to him to begin with. He certainly hasnt repaid that to us. 11 errors in 4 games. When we have Dwz who killedit at fullback for us and New Zealand last years aswell as Aekins who has been good for ages. The #1 should be between them and Edwards shouldnt be in the conversation at all.

If we lost DWZ for Edwards it would be a huge f**k up.

I have said Dallin should be centre. He is not a fullback all he does is run the ball hard. Fullbacks need to be more than that.

Where would play him at FB?

He is the best fullback at the club and his form in 2018 was amazing for us. He was the best fullback at international level in 2018 also. He carved up for Panthers and New Zealand at fullback. The highest levels possible for him to do so. He outplayed Tedesco as captain for his country. Not bad for a bloke who is 'not a fullback'. He successfully did it at all levels last year.

His biggest strength is his kick returns. The opposition would love to have him at centre. Giving him a much tougher job in defence and removing his biggest strength as a player. You bag out his defence on the wing and think it would improve at centre?

I'd start with dallin FB and Edwards wing (he saved himself with that last try, and he tried hard to get back into the game instead of hiding on the wing). Dallin deserves a crack again especially after last year, and if it doesn't work then I'd bring in aekins for fullback and move Dallin to wing

You didn't answer my question. What other team would he be Fullback

You worded the question terribly. As i didnt even know you asked it.

Its hard to know exactly what other teams would be willing to move their fullbacks for him.

Like Knights would probably love him to keep the Ponga at 6 experiment going. Cowboys would love him for sure ahead of TMM. Broncos should wabt him to replace Boyd, but considering they havent dropped him for Isaako yet they probably won't drop him at all.

Storm would happily upgrade Jarome Hughes to DWZ. Probably turning him into the best fullback in the game.

Fact remains he was one of the form fullbacks in the NRL in 2018 and was THE form fullback of the international games. If he wasnt a fullback he wouldn't have done his job so well. He wasnt just serviceable. He was outstanding.

Ponga was 6 due to lack of a 6. DWZ doesn't fix that.

TMM is a stop gap ball playing FB to replace their sacked on. Holmes will be their FB.

Slater had a hand in a lot of the Storms attack. So Hughes being an ex half fixes that. Again DWZ would fix that.

FB these days can run the attack. Every team has one that can kick or can setup tries. Neither Edwards or DWZ can provide that and that is part of why our attack has no idea

Storm.
NZ.(You can't put the captain on the wing).
Raiders perhaps.
Sharks.
Dragons perhaps.
Broncos
Cowboys

Storm- why not Addo-Carr if you want a running FB?
NZ- RTS won the Dally M last year. Why would they move him
Raiders- Nicoll-Klostad is flying.
Sharks- Who would move out of the side to put Moylan is the halves?
Dragons- They have better attacking options. Again they attack with their FB
Broncos- their captain is back there. Let Kahu go due to not giving him FB
Cows- Holmes is going there. Prob top 5 FB in comp

Brown wanted to move him to 6 and Ponga wanted to play there. The problem is they had no decent fullback options.

Cowboys would happily take Dallin now... Holmes might never return. He's not exactly a great ball playing fullback himself either.

You honestly think Bellamy would pick Hughes ahead of DWZ? There's no way Bellamy would sit him in reserve grade and theres zero chance he's moving Vunivalu or JAC. He would be the Storm fullback. And he would become great at areas Bellamy thought he needed to work on.

Dallin at international level in 2018:
5 games played
6 tries
1 try assist
3 linebreaks
155m gained per game

Thats remarkable for someone who is 'not a fullback'. Maguire thought so highly of him he made him captain. You don't do that for aplayer who is not good in the position he is playing in.

He was good enough for Maguire to put him as captain in the position and be the best player in his team actoss 6 games. Yet you claim he's not good enough to be our fullback and seem to suggest no other team would give him a jersey.

Who says Ponga can play 5/8th? Lino will be their 6

Holmes won't make NFL. His GF moved to Townsville. He will be there next season at least.

Look at Slaters kicks, Try assists etc. Drinkwater/Hughes were always going to be the FB to keep flow to the attack

Look at last years stats. What team had less Try assists, kicks etc then we did? It includes before DWZ was fullback too

You're suggesting DWZ will keep RTS out of the number 1 jersey for NZ?
Well I don't really know, but as I said you can't captain the side from the wing, unless they are going to take the captaincy from him or drop him altogether. I wouldn't mind betting RTS plays wing especially under Maguire, who would have thought of this when making Dallin captain, presuming it was Maguire who made that decision.

It must be remembered that Dallin is the grandson of a previous NZ captain.

Has he ever captained NZ before?

I'm not so sure especially since he didn't go to Denver when fully fit. You don't shit on people like that.

He is the reigning Dally M FB and a big chance of winning that again.

He’s the club captain.

I don’t think they’ll name a winger as the captain.

As if the Dally M means shit in regard to national captaincy. Greg Alexander wasn't made captain of Australia.

Do you see the problem that has been created here by making DWZ captain in the first place?
